BaffinEiger Men's Snow Boot

Phenomenal boot.
I can’t say enough about this boot. It’s a little chonky, but super comfortable. Very warm so far. I bought as a replacement to my Bogs that I have had for over 10 yrs and loved. But we ice fish and the bogs were no longer keeping my feet warm on the ice. We live in N.Dakota so it gets cold. So far so good. It’s only been a month so far but no complaints. Will update review after we ice fish in January if they don’t keep my toes warm. But at this point I’m really happy with them.I recommend going to their site and letting them ‘fit’ you for the correct size, then come back here to order. I normally wear a size 7 in men’s and they recommend an 8, so that what I ordered. Perfect fit.

Comfortable and oddly springy despite being huge.
Sturdy, comfortable and fairly breathable given their size and level of insulation. My old pair of Rockys made it through ten harsh Minnesota winters and I suspect these will last even longer.

I thought that they were made in Canada not Mayamar
The fasteners don't work all that well but the boots are warm. Overall not bad but not worth the money.

Keep feet warm! My husband really likes them! He said they really keep his feet dry, and warm! He’s tried LOTS of boots, and so fat these are the Best! Well worth the money!

Awesome winter boot. Order a size up.
I wear boots that range from 11.5-12.5 depending on the brand of model. I ordered the Baffin Eiger in size 13 and they fit great. They're even a little snug but I have a feeling the liner will break down a bit. It much like a snowboard boot but not as stiff and allow you to slide your foot right in. Straps and gaiters make this suited for deep snow and wind. I intend on using them for snowmobiling. Beware they are very large in size but after your first outing you should have no problem maneuvering.

Great boots!
I bought a men's boot because the women's were too small around the toes. I also decided to go with Velcro straps instead of lace ups like the Shackleton. I also compared the Eiger to the Selkirk which is not quite as warm as the Eiger. The best all around fit was the Eiger. The heel was just right, unlike the Selkirk which was a little sloppy. There was more distance between my foot and the ground in the Eiger than the Selkirk, and I liked the extended gator on both. The Selkirk is listed as waterproof because of the front seam that is sealed. The front seam is not sealed on the Eiger which I would have preferred, but if necessary, I can use seam sealer on it. I use a middle weight trekker sock which works fantastically in the boot. My toes are really toasty. I doubt that I will be in -138 degree weather, but I went with the Aiger because my feet get cold easily and I will be using them mostly for winter photography where I am standing still a lot. If I were doing some serious hiking in them, which I doubt, my feet might get overheated. I usually buy a women's 8.5 in boots with a medium weight sock with plenty of toe room. I fit the men's 8 in the Eiger. I wouldn't want it any smaller. They are also exceptionally well made, very comfy, and easy to walk in.

Slip on boots
I bought them mostly for ice fishing and late season deer hunting in Minnesota. I'm size 10.5 but bought 12 and glad I did, they are not too big and feel good, there is not a lot of extra movement in the heal, yet room in the toe, which I like. They right size for me. Since it's still 50f outside I've no need yet, but did want to be ready for this years deer season in case there is a cold snap. I have been wearing them around the house to break in and they feel like slippers, big slippers. Not as clunky as I would have thought. But yes they are bulky for all the insulation? I expected them to be bigger. I love the easy slip on and off. There is nothing worse than trying to bend over to lase up boots when in an ice suit. I don't see these as hiking or hunting boots for long distance, more for standing around ice hole or in deer stand. I have tons of gear and want the right tool for the right job. I don't think there is a one and done for all use. I like having options on gear and these are my deep freeze choice now. Reason I bought my baffin's. Last year when trying to replace my wifes ice aromor boots that were big, clunky, pointed, not attractive and most important not warm. I bought her a version of baffin's in a men's small boot. And she claims her feet never get cold on the ice and her feet are always cold. Works for me.

Purpose-built, doesn't last
I used these boots for a handful of ice fishing trips and they sprang a leak through the bottom/ sole. For a purpose-built boot, at this cost, this failure is very disappointing. My Muck boots outperform these, I can buy two pair for the price of these Baffins.

Took an expensive risk, worth every penny.
Every winter i travel to the Norwegian Arctic circle where i frequently encounter temps as low as -35C, for years i've had a pair of cheap "arctic" boots from military first for around £60. I haven't lost any toes but my feet would ALWAYS start to feel the cold after 10-15 minutes. I stand around alot on these trips with my cameras & wanted some boots that would prolong my time in the cold before struggling to keep them warm & Baffins seemed to have a good reputation so I took a chance & ordered a pair. They arrived pretty quickly & instantly you could see how much better made they were. The outer "sleeve" was rigid & i could step straight in to the boot hands free. Once inside, the insulated liner gripped my foot nice & snug (not tight or uncomfortable) & felt like it was made to fit specifically for me. The sole of the boot is quite a bit wider than my old boots & helps to spread weight across the snow which made walking on/over/through it much easier by comparison. I was out for around 6 hours in temps of around -30C, my feet did eventually feel the cold which took much longer but a quick short walk soon fixed that & they warmed up. An hour on the snow mobile would usually end with a lot of discomfort from the cold but I didn't even feel the temperature change within the Baffins, my feet & toes remained toasty warm.My only gripe is tremendous amount of import tax you have to pay, i just wished Baffin had retail outlets here in the UK but i guess our temperatures don't warrant much business to be worthwhile.

Awesome winter boot for serious cold weather with great traction.
These boots have a really thick inner boot. They feel unbelievably tight- almost uncomfortable at first - almost like walking in alpine ski boots. Pull the liners out and wear them around the house so they can pack down and mold to your foot a bit and then out them back in the shells. Then, as you walk in the boots outdoors, they will form closely to your foot providing great support and stability as well as being the warmest boot you will ever have owned. The snow cuffs are like a pair of gaiters. They ain't pretty, but damn, they work well. Long hours @ -20 C with only thin wool socks = warm and comfy.Worth every penny.

Great boots for winter
These are great boots. The lining is a little bulky, but will form them to your foot with some time. Very very warm and very well-made

perfect in every way
These boots have been a life saver for me, I am working near to the polar regions and it gets down to -60 degrees at times, these boots are ideal for these conditions, as long as you keep moving around your feet will be toastie warm, they are quite tight on the calves, and i would advise breaking them in to stretch them a bit before you need to use them in the field, they are comfortable and surprisingly light for their size, I am a UK shoe size 9, but I ordered a UK 10 which fit perfectly. highly recommended.

Warm and comfy
With only the two fit adjustments they are not great for distance walking but very warm and comfy …. Have contrasted to three other brands and Baffin comes out on top of cost as well as performance…with these feltpak style winter boots is seems you get what you pay for
