To Succeed in Hebrew - Aleph: Beginner's Level With English Translations by M... Paperback – 1 Jan. 1998

This book is would be ideal for my language class( To succeed in Hebrew)But it is much to expensive for myself.Do you have second hand books of this name?

This book has been used mainly in Ulpan classes for graduated students.Although, it is considered a beginner level, you should take in consideration that it is very intense and it is not at all like other Hebrew methods I dealt with. (For example, for the alphabet and reading exercises take only 2 or 3 pages, then the author jumps into the language right away)This method is based mostly on exercises following grammar rules. There are some texts but a lot of exercises in the first volume. I you want more texts, you will need to get the 2 other volumes.At the end of each unit, you get a complete summary of the vocabulary and grammar and also at the end of the book there is a dictionary. (which you won't find in the 2 other volumes)If you start learning Hebrew, you should try other books from the same author such as “To Succeed in Basic Hebrew” which may be suit you better.I think the method is very challenging and complete. When you finish the first volume, you acquire a solid intermediate level. There are 2 other volumes from the same collection for advanced students.Definitely it brings you a solid understanding.
