Xiem Tools Soft Silicone Clay Rib for Ceramics and Pottery (SCR5-O-10197)

I work with on the wheel and sculpting. This product is absolutely amazing for smoothing out areas in sculpting. It is pretty flimsy, so I don’t really use it for the wheel.

This rib has worked wonderfully on large bowls and platters. I just recently gave it a shot at working on a Spaniel water bowl. Its narrow size allowed me to insert inside the bowl before starting my wheel; its flexible silicone construction allowed me to work on the inside walls without gouges or any other mishap. I will be using this tool a lot in my near future! Highly recommended!

It's much smaller than I thought it would be but it's still one of my new favorites. The shape is versatile enough to work with even larger pieces.

As always, a very nice tool for pottery.

Was hoping to replace my red mud tools rib. This is a lot more firm and considerably thicker.Won't work for intended purpose.

I love these. It is really nice to have this set. One of these will be the perfect shape for the curve that you need.

Love it!!!I use it for compressing when I throw plates. It’s also great for helping shape a cylinder. It’s helped save a few mugs when the clay got wonky. I was able to use it to help stabilize and even out the sides.

Too flimsy for throwing clay pottery. You won't get a straight edge at all. I tried salvagitit for compression during trimming--anything--but it's pretty useless.
