Best garage door opener I have ever owned!
Well, the chef drive opener is a little more money, it is worth every penny. The instructions were easy to follow, but you will want to make sure that you have power within 5 feet of where you plan on mounting it. The operation is very smooth and quiet. I have had it for about three months now and it works flawlessly. If you are going to install this yourself, you will need a drill and have to buy a couple of drillbits for the locking system. One of the other features, I love about this, is that when it does close it locks securely behind you.

Quieter and less "violent" than the overhead styles
I needed to get a new unit since there seemed to be something wrong with the original Genie overhead screw type unit. It's been 17 years in service, so it lived a good, well-serviced life. Even with regular maintenance it finally gave it up. Wanted to clean up the look and decided that although the jackshaft unit was more expensive, I loved the idea that it could be hooked into the home wireless system, as well as having an auto close feature. It's a beefy unit and the emergency battery backup in case of a power loss is a nice added plus.Biggest plus in my opinion is the fact that it's MUCH quieter than the Genie screw drive, and it wasn't all that noisy. Sometimes the dog doesn't even realize when the door opens. With the old unit, anyone in the house could hear the door open.Instructions were simple enough to follow. Once familiarized with what goes where, installation was fairly easy and straightforward. It helps to be a bit mechanically inclined, but there's also plenty of Youtube videos you can watch to get the hang of how to install. I took my time and carefully installed and double checked my work as I went. Took me a day and a half, including removing the old system. Now the area above the garage door is neater and nothing hanging down in the center between the cars. The LED light is now taking the place of where the old unit was, and love the added adjustable features of this unit. Auto time to close, auto sensing LED light comes on hands free and with timed auto shutoff once you leave the area. With the iPhone or Android app, you can operate the unit with your phone, and I added a video camera as well to be able to see what's going on inside the garage any time I want. I can also check the open/close log to see when/if the door was open or closed while away. Oh, and another neat idea was the closing lock pin that automatically latches and opens when the door is operated, locking the travel to less than a foot once closed in case someone tries to manually pull the door open. A huge step up technologically from the old style. It's been almost 3 months since I installed it and we're pleased as punch. A bit pricey? Yes. Worth it? Oh, heck yes!

Awesome opener that gives you more storage space
We’ve had traditional garage door openers in the past and they all operate fine. This unit doesn’t take up space at the ceiling and affords you that space for storage if desired. This was easy to install and setup. We installed two of these units in our new house 15 months ago and they haven’t had any issues. Work flawlessly on app, with built in car openers, programmable key pad or included opener controls. We have the app programmed to close the doors every evening which has covered my rear a few times I have forgotten to close the doors. I love the addition of the lock / bolt assembly which adds security. Great product but a little more expensive, well worth it in my opinion!

Work great and are verry quiet
Had the first one installed by a pro, not really sure he was so professional when I saw him use a BFH to try and get it to fit. I had a wall mount installed because I don't have the overhead that is needed for an overhead type opener. The next two I installed on larger doors in a building where I keep my tractor and truck that don't fit in a standard overhead door and everything went smooth. Even installed new plug to accommodate the opener. They all work as designed and I installed keypads and a number of push button openers for my different vehicles so I don't have to search for an opener. I have never had a door opener but now that I'm 75 I decided it was time to be lazy and push the button, besides my wife has developed an ambulatory issue, and no she didn't close the door before we got the closer, I did. I guess I never had a garage that I could park my vehicle in because it was all ways full of other stuff, but that's different now. The battery backup is great because we loose power more often than we should so at least I can still open and close the door if need be.The only issue that I have is with the MyQ app. It does everything but operate the doors. I called support and we went through everything we could think of and it still won't open or close the doors. They are on three different networks so that open and close from anywhere isn't true for me no matter where I'm at with my phone. I'm happy that it shows the door position and history I guess that will have to do for now until I figure out the issue with the MyQ app and my doors.

Nice not having a motor and track taking up space
This is a very quiet compact garage door opener. Install was simple with some experimenting on the cable tensioner device. I understand why it is needed. The spring tension on the door is more critical than on the standard overhead door opener. The newer model does not have the tensioner and I would be very curious how it does it. There are spring loaded pushers to get the door going down with force and a good idea if you are having any issues. My biggest criticism is the MyQ app and its ability to connect with the opener. I have a super strong WiFi signal and yet the opener can never find the MyQ network. After 5 repeated attempts including unplugging, rep lugging the opener in and trying cell network instead of WiFi it refuses to connect. Troubleshooting is useless. Opener is very good, software sucks.
