You're paying for a marketing piece...
This is really designed to motivate you to go to his workshop, where you'll actually write the book. The basic message is just to start writing and never stop. Not sure that's going to create the value for the reader. Maybe for some gifted authors who are natural storytellers, but if you need a kick in the rear, then maybe you'll find it worthwhile. The fact that Tom sets the bar that a book can be written in a weekend was worth the 3 star rating.

A different method, writing from the Inside out
I have just attended one of Tom Bird's retreats, which are the basis for this book. I've ordered the book, and will update the review when I get it. Here I would just like to encourage people to try this method of writing. It is different from other approaches in that it focuses on who you are, and from that, what you need to say. Writing can be a process of allowing what is inside of you to get expressed and shared with other people rather than disciplining yourself ever more punitively. It is a good method; it works; and it is growth promoting on top of it. Just suspend your objections temporarily; follow the instructions in the book; and see what happens. It's a no risk experiment. I think you will be happily surprised.

As an electronic book, it's poorly prepared and edited: fonts are jumbled, spaces are missing after periods, section markers fall in extremely awkward places, and I even found a couple of typos. But as for its content, I'd definitely give the book five stars.

Content and tips have helped me write my book in a week.
The content in this book is exactly what I needed to hear to write my book. There were more quotes than I preferred, yet the content was great. If you think you need to take forever writing your book, STOP thinking. Let go of the mental blocks and create room for your divine expression to flow through you.

Really?
This book truly sucked. I didn't know I was buying a book about God. It was a horrible read and I found myself saying shit at each page I read in disappointment at this authors mindset. I had even taken a class from this guy on creative writing and although the class was just about as unhelpful as this book, I thought perhaps I had missed something and it was me. I have to say that at least it wasn't about God and Jesus, Jesus and God, and on and on and on. Brother!!!! is all I have to say about this piece of work and this authors mentality! Yuk - nothing but a self help book using an age old superstition as if he has an insight others don't. Don't waste your time with this one.

Don't waste your time.
Write a terrible book in a weekend. This book was a rough read. It sorely needed an editor. Plus, the advice could have been paired down to a pamphlet. Stop criticizing your own work and just write. Don't worry about what other people think. Write for eight hours a day, and finish your book in three days. And there you have it. I just saved you a couple of hours. You're welcome.

A fully explicit and clear documentation of the feasibility of writing a book in a weekend. I find it absolutely possible and if one follows through, they can very well complete this task.

Very Ambitious
Not only is the title ambitious but the project would be as well. I have not had the opportunity to put it to the test yet but will see how things go with such a project after Xmas.
