Perfect for splitting Carving Blocks
I bought this to quickly split 2x2 basswood carving blocks into triangles - much simpler than creating a jig for my table saw. The blade is well-ground, straight, and razor - or I should really say, chisel - sharp. Perfect.

Pretty good!
For starters, I hate chisels. If there's another way to get something accomplished with another tool, even if it takes twice as long to do it that way, I'm going to do it instead of using a chisel. However, there are some jobs that require you to swallow your pride and bust out your nemesis--I mean, the chisels. For what it's worth, this is pretty sharp and works fairly well. It seems to be a durable tool, and it does the job if you absolutely have to use it. So, regretfully, I have to say that this works well and surpasses my expectations.

Sharpen for harder woods
Most of my carpentry are furniture and cabinets made from medium-grade wood. Only occasionally will I use Walnut, Mahogany or oak. The vast majority is with pine. That being the case, this wood chisel suits me just fine. It is not the sharpest, so it works for pine but struggles with harder woods. The good news is that the hardened steel can be easily sharpened. A few minutes on a stone or a even a belt sander puts this chisel up to the level it needs to be at. It maintains its blade well also. The tool is hefty, it balances well in the hand and is plenty sturdy to use with a mallet. It is not the favorite chisel I own but it is the widest one. For certain applications, I am so glad that it is in my tool box. Buy with confidence.

I shaved ash wood into dust with this
Sharp out of the box the handle is nice ergonomic and grippy. Has a nice weight to it. After a few uses I haven't noticed any chipping and it's just as sharp. Good find for a big chisel .

2" Wide Professional Quality Wood Chisel
This is a high quality 2" wide professional grade wood chisel. The chisel blade is made from tough Cr-V tool steel to keep a sharp edge for longer periods. The tool comes with a rubber plastic handle that is very comfortable to grip and has anti-slip surfaces. The end of the handle has a rubberized rounded surface for hitting with a mallet. No indication if this has a full length tang. The chisel comes with a reusable protect cutting edge cap. The long side edges of the blade have a slight bevel to provide clearance for deeper cut edges.Would recommend this to anyone.
