Flaky Functionality - Had High Hopes But Let Down In The End
I chose this device because it had good reviews, though I had never heard of the company. I also like that it included the cables necessary to connect both CPUs. My setup is anEVGA GeFore 1050 TI DVI-D video card, a NEC EA261WM DVI-D display, an original Microsoft Intellimouse, and Logitech Y-SG13 PS/2 keyboard using Monoprice 110934 USB converter.Occasionally on boot up I will get the initial low resolution BIOS screen, but then the KVM chooses not to pass standard 1920x1200 resolution when Windows loads. A press and hold the reset button on the unit resolves it. No one wants to have to do this! Especially when it cannot be duplicated (i.e. happens at random). When I do finally get connectivity established occasionally the mouse will become unresponsive, which requires an unplug and re-plug of the mouse device at the KVM. Very frustrating. Yes, they include a serial cable (really? serial?) for some nebulous firmware update capability. But searching their site there are NO firmware upgrades available for this unit.On the good side, the KVM is very well built, and the connector cables are a welcome edition. I also like the hot-key options that let you switch displays from the keyboard.Overall, and especially for the price, I wish I would have chosen another brand hoping for more stability.

5 stars for the product, -1 star for the shipping.
I couldn't be happier with this thing. It does its job excellently, it's a reasonable size, it's a very reasonable price, the cables are robust and definitely are not going to break any time soon, it doesn't get too hot even after running for several days (which is to be expected since these things are intended to run in server rooms), the DDM and keyboard macros are super convenient and went above and beyond my expectations, even the face buttons, which look like they might get dislocated if you hit them at the wrong angle, are surprisingly stable and robust, going in perfectly straight no matter where my finger is when I press them. And a cool bonus is that if even one of the connected machines are powered on and connected, the KVM switch powers on. You can run it without ever plugging in the A/C adapter. But I plugged mine in anyway. This surprised me, because I wasn't expecting to hear a beep from the not-plugged-in-to-the-outlet KVM when I plugged it into the machine. For a moment I thought my UPS (uninterruptible power source) was complaining about something. So yeah, I can't find anything to complain about with the product. However, there are a few things that should be noted...1. My monitor is slow to switch. But that's an issue with the monitor--the mouse and keyboard transfer instantly, and I've tested this extensively. The KVM switch won't magically make your monitor faster, though. It's not a constant input and there IS a very brief moment when the monitor is without an input. You can even hear Windows make the "device unplugged" sound while switching. So it's less like a smooth transition and more like you have a guy unplugging the devices and replugging them at the speed of light. I remember the product details saying something about the the computer never losing connection with the monitor, but somehow, I doubt that claim. Maybe it's only the higher-end multi-thousand-dollar models with 16+ ports that do that, or maybe the marketing team isn't quite in-sync with the engineering team. But the monitor going blank for two seconds is the only thing falling short of my expectations, even though it's technically the monitor that is slow. Even so, it's not too bad. It's not like I need to switch between OS's a hundred times in a minute.2. I had an extreme input lag issue with Windows. It seems like a Windows Update fixed it, as I haven't had it lag again, but now I'm afraid to touch the mouse and keyboard connections, or really any setting on the KVM, while said Windows machine is powered on. This, too, isn't an issue with the KVM, because at the same time that Windows was going AWOL with the input, the Linux machine was working perfectly fine.3 (this is the sole reason why the product is rated 4/5 rather than 5/5). Shipping was hell. I had to order this thing THREE TIMES to get the damn thing in my hands. It was supposed to arrive in two days, and instead took TWO WEEKS. The first time, I gave my house address because they refused to ship to a PO Box. I have very good reasons for preferring a PO Box. Two days later, I get a notification that the product was returned as "undeliverable". I immediately ordered again for another two-day shipping. Undeliverable. Then I called customer service and raised hell about the driver constantly refusing to deliver my package. The amazon rep was very helpful and gave me free one-day shipping for the inconvenience. The first two were refunded and I ordered a third time with the free one-day shipping, this time sending it to the physical address of my Post Office. Apparently USPS won't deliver to your house if you don't already receive mail there. Why the hell the retailer would both deny PO Boxes AND choose a courier who won't deliver to anything BUT a PO Box is beyond me. Well, this time it went through UPS for some reason. So I waited nervously, and finally got the package. This has singlehandedly been the most infuriating shipping experience I've ever had. And it wouldn't have happened if the retailers had just directly allowed shipment to a PO Box.If you decide to allow shipment to a PO Box in the future, let me know and I'll bump that 4 to a 5.As for durability and tech support, I'm going to leave those ratings blank because I haven't run into tech support-worthy issues, and I don't want to test the durability of my KVM. It seems stable and well-built, but I'm not gonna go dropping it from 6 feet and risk breaking it just to tell you how much of a beating it can take.

Doesn't work with the G510!
I'm writing this to inform not only of the incompatibility but the company's wherewithal in finding a solution that works. First the compatibility issue. The G15 reportedly does work with this and the direct device mapping. I cannot confirm this but that is what the company says. Both the G15 and the G510 use Logitech's Gaming Software suite which is currently version 8.20. Knowing how close these were I expected that the G510 should have very few issues. LCD issues perhaps but mapping and basic keyboard functionality should be fine.I was in for a surprise. First, there is a serious issue with loss of response which can happen from either the mouse or the keyboard, or both. I have to press the reset button on front of the KVM whenever this happens and I have to say it happens at least three times a day.Another issue which only happens with the keyboard is that when I see this pause, where the keyboard stops responding and I don't press reset right away, the last key I pressed will start spamming the computer currently linked on the KVM. It will not respond to anything but a KVM reset at this point leading me to believe the problem is the KVM itself not the keyboard. It as a matter of fact happened as I was writing this review.Nothing Gkey responds on this thing. It is advertised as direct device mapping which should not matter which device is actually being mapped. Whether it has 0 Gkeys, 5 Gkeys or 18 Gkeys should be irrelevant. Direct Device Mapping does not appear to actually happen here. What happens is the very short list of compatible devices they have tested are very likely the only ones that work. The DVI/USB combo cables that come shipped with this device are not DVI-I (both DVI/VGA cables) but DVI-D which will NOT work if you are trying to map a VGA out to a DVI monitor. I have to buy a separate set of cables to get the desired video mapping. In short, this kit has completely failed my expectations. I could have gone with a 30 dollar solution for what I get from this. Now, lets talk about customer service. First, ConnectPRO was extremely outgoing in talking this over, finding my current firmware is up to date and sharing personal takes/opinions. It has been 3 days since we've last talked but it seems to me nothing they can do in the short term will make this solution work. Their real QA is in Taiwan and the device is made in Taiwan. The guy who I talked to doesn't even live in the same timezone and responds once an awhile with rather helpless information such as forwarding on my concerns to the QA team. After two days he responds back that they currently don't have the G510 in their test department. The keyboard model is about 3 years old. I have no idea what goes on in Taiwan to prohibit the accessibility of a popular 3 year old keyboard but what do I know? Maybe there is something to that.In any event this is not something I'd recommend. I know DDR is the rave with this company and in some respects the customer support has been as good as they can be but the company as a whole leaves me wanting. It seems that a company could not be small enough to warrant such a small list of supported devices. Much less on a $200 device.
