Not recommended if you plan on throwing this around, watching it get crushed by other luggage in the trunk, or swinging it at a brick wall... but honestly you shouldn't be doing that to the bag you are carrying your tech in anyways.Light weight, with compartments to store cables, wires, chargers, and anything else you need for your laptop ... outside of some bulky speakers but anyways.Good against light rain and splashing water for a bit, but it isn't waterproof so don't try to dunk this underwater with your iPad inside.No hard backing, just soft padding at best.

Many steps up from what I had been using to store my hp laptop which was a 2-gallon ziploc bag. One day I wanted to use a desktop riser for my keyboard and that meant moving my laptop from beneath the keyboard for my pc, and without any case per say I opted temporarily for a 2-gal ziploc as my main concern is to protect it in the house not from people, but from the crazy ants that find their way into all kinds of electronic to make their crazy ant apartments. I didn't want a hardcase for the bulk and weight, but something as light as a ziploc to grab and use at will.I don't take it with my anywhere, it's only used in the house so I don't need a titanium case, but what I need is lightweight coverage to keep away dust and make it not tiny ant friendly. I like to put my most used electronics like tablets, phones into plain simple fabric sleeves, because I like to take them in and out quickly, I like to feel something soft and not cold as the cover, and aim to minimal protection from scratches, not drops.So a sleeve like this with dual zippers is what I want with some sufficient padding that keeps it to a minimum. This meets all my wants and definitely looks much better than a 2-gallon ziploc as well it is much safer should it tip a little where I am keeping it upright as I momentarily delegate it to the back burner as I am caught up in other projects not using the laptop. The fit is just right with some room to put related accessories in. For a laptop soft case just to use in the house I think it is good.
