Compact brilliance.... Love these books!
I really do love these compact graphic novels. Great size, not to big and not to small. Already bought three different ones and at this rate I'll be buying more. I've always loved the joker so it's always going to be a 5 out of 5.... Great art Great story Great book

Wonderfully Dark and Compelling
I go through fads with graphic novels. I might read a couple on the bounce and then move on for a few months. Perhaps read a few #novels, etc. Then it becomes the old cliché; What goes around, comes around. What I like about some of the modern-day artwork in these graphic novels, is the atmospheric feel and colouring. Shadows creating a certain ambience to some of the dark styled #comic art. Also, the concept's slightly twisted way from the old norm, where past time characters are concerned. Everything becomes abstract to the way the old twee style used to be. The camp outrageously over the top stories of old become toned down. Replaced with a new sinister, yet more darkened, over the top perception. Yesterday, I spoke of a graphic novel simply titled, Joker. Last night I sat down and read it. This probably took about an hour while taking a good look at the moody art. Personally, I can’t do drawing or painting to save my life, but I do enjoy looking at other people’s abilities. The story was written very imaginatively, and the artist seemed to be in tune with the written story. We see the dark and sinister world of criminality through a two-bit, down on his luck, criminal Johnny Frost. He is a driver among other things. One night he picks up the Joker being released from Arkham Asylum. Our Johnny Frost goes on a journey as the super villain’s side kick driver. What I liked about the story was the way that the regular villains of the past are made to look a little more street normalised. Horrid and ugly on a different level. Obviously with the exception of our star, the Joker. We are in a constant seedy night-time world where these violent villains are doing their crooked things. Other regular bad guys of the comic genre are there too. All having little cameo scenes. I could not help imagining a film of this graphic novel being made. The way films like #SinCity or #300 were done. Real people actors inside a colour comic style moving presentation. I think it might be called ‘Art Noire.’ I’m not sure. If I am wrong, please say in the comments. Anyways, this little graphic or comic book was a peach of escapism. From the written perspective and the splendid artwork. I enjoyed it way more than I was expecting to.

Nice book, terrible copy
Nice book but it arrived in a damaged state, with the cover separated from the pages, so I returned it. The replacement came and was also damaged, with a heavy crease spoiling the cover. Apparently, the same item cannot be returned twice so that’s it. Not a good buying experience from this seller
