Thermablaster RC9200IT 32000 BTU Infrared Cabinet Heater

The construction is even better than I expected, sturdy and quite heavy. This heater lights right up and puts out an astonishing amount of heat. In one hour, it raised the temperature in a leaky 2-car garage to a comfortable 50F when it was 20F outside.The additional grille that must be installed (my pics should be attached) is quite big, extending 9" out from the front. The hood directly over the top burner gets red hot, so this large protector is needed otherwise burns will occur. The top of the heater remains cool.The setup of the casters and an odd pre-installed bracket at the bottom is odd. The product manual refers to this bracket as a supporting bracket. The casters are so that you can slide it, the supporting bracket is presumably there to stop it from tipping over. This bracket drags on the floor, defeating the purpose of the casters. You have to tip the heater onto the rear casters to lift this bracket and the two front casters off the floor in order to move it. They may as well have placed three brackets in the front and two casters in the back. Despite this oddity, I highly recommend this for anyone needing quick heat.

great little heater, Just wish it would work outdoors

1st unit - Bad thermocoupling is what I was told by Thermablaster technical support. The unit I received was defective. True to Amazon's form the return process couldn't have been simpler. I have ordered a second one and will write a follow up review that will hopefully bring the rating up.2nd unit - on arrival I notice just how shoddy the build quality was on this unit, more so than the 1st unit. The wheels were bent as well as the metal support on the bottom of the unit. It clearly took a few good shots either in transit or at the warehousing facility. The seams didn't match well and the latches had to be crimped just to keep the fasteners from falling out of their holes. The top heating panels must not have been adjusted properly because there was a flame overflowing out over the top piece and although there is an extended guard that attaches to it it just didn't give me a feeling of safety. I expect more for $158.00 and you should too. Great idea with absolutely horrible execution.

Used this heater maybe 6 times, takes forever to ignite or won’t fire up.

Given the pricing of comparable items, probably quality is in line. But fairly cheaply put together, latches are poor and I had to "re-hinge" one of them. Rollers don't roll well, and a grill that seems like an afterthought.It works, but you won't be overwhelmed by the unit/quality/etc.

The steel/aluminium construction is not fantastic. However, this is a great buy for the price--so much heat! The best items to point out: safe- doesn't get hot throughout the metal (the top is cold despite the heat from the side), two settings (we frequently only used one since two was way too much heat), works great on a porch in the country, and at lower temps (most burners -- the lamps etc. don't work below 42). This one was very very good at 36-37. Definitely recommend.

The pilot light would start, but then as soon as the gas knob is turned to low or high, the gas shuts off. I tried all kinds of work arounds, no luck. Didn't work.

I've enjoyed having this heater this winter while working in the garage! As we've had an especially cold winter this year. Heater works good - you just have to learn how to start it - sometimes have to start it twice.I like the fact that the propane tank sits inside of the heater housing. Thermablaster RC9200IT puts out great heat. THANKS. I'd buy it again.
