Like buttah!
1. Some friends are like sisters.2. You can never use too much butter.3. It is best to be a child FOREVER!This was the cutest book ever! It was worth the wait, and probably one of the handful of books that I've ever preordered. I was so tempted to use a "like buttah" Saturday Night Live meme from the "Coffee Talk" skit, but decided against it. I'm sure you've got enough of a visual.Julia and her friend Simca love French food. They especially love cooking and creating new, interesting recipes. Reflecting on how they don't want to end up like most adults, "who never watched cartoons and only read biographies", they devise a way to mix the "art of childhood" into their dishes, and thus help adults remember to lighten up.I am a huge fan of Kyo Maclear; she's got fab style and wonderful ideas! I was equally impressed with Julie Morstad's illustrations–they were very retro and chic. I've only read Maclear's children's books, but I liked them so much that I went ahead and bought her two adult works of fiction: The Letter Opener and Stray Love. I'm sure she won't let me down. Check out this book if you get a chance! It's entertaining for people of all ages. One benefit to buying a copy: the dust jacket doubles as an awesome little book poster.

Beautiful picture book
Very cute book with lovely illustrations. It is NOT a book about Julia Child; it's a fictional picture book, perhaps very loosely inspired by Julia Child. The message is one that even I, as an adult, really had to give thought to.

Cute book but maybe for a 3-4 year old?
Cute story and illustrations, my 18 month old twin boys like to choose their stories, one of my boys have chosen it a few times well my other is uninterested. I'm hoping they grow into this book because it is a good book for little ones.

I loved this book
I loved this book! At first I thought this was a biography of Julia Child, however, its not. Its a cute story on how adults should slow down and make the most of life. A look at adults through a childs eyes! I loved it!

Strangely wonderful
I am a chef, and love the food & cooking aspects to this book, for my 7 year old great niece, who is also a young cook. In that sense, it's wonderful. A bit strange in the way grown ups are portrayed, but in spite of that one thing, I absolutely love it. So does my little Hannah.

Beautiful illustrations but blah story
Beautiful illustrations, I have it on my daughters nursery shelf because her name is Julia. And I like it only for those reasons, not a fan of the story at all.

My son and I love to cook together
My son and I love to cook together, and we loved this book. Its message about loss of childhood joy and trying to recapture that joy brought be to tears the first time I read it with my son.
