ION CarbonCover for Apple iPad (3rd. Gen.) & iPad 2, Black

I received an ION Carbon Cover as a present in August of 2012. For the past few months it has slowly started to fall apart. The materials look like they are of good quality and fit, and the appearance of the cover overall is great. The problem seems to be in the assembly. There is a rubber edging that runs along the top of the plastic case back that has started to come off. I tried gluing it, but it does not hold. Another problem is that the edge of the carbon fiber fabric is beginning to fray around the top's edge.Now the real problem! I contacted the factory and they said they would be willing to go beyond their 90 day warranty and fix the problem for me but I had to pay for shipping costs. Thinking this would be no problem and maybe run $5 or $6, I asked that they provide the address it should be sent to. It was then that I realized it had to go back to Hong Kong and the shipping charges were going to be at least $25.00. That's more than half the cost of a new one with no guarantee the repair would last any longer than the original. I then suggested that replacing, instead of repairing, would be the way to go and doing this through one of their U.S. distributors or dealers. I was then told they don't have any. Yet the product sells in the U.S.Please think about this before purchasing. If there is a problem, you're going to be **** out of luck!Update: It's been six months since my original review and this cover looks like it is 10 years old. It has not held up well at all. I would not recommend it to anyone, especially at the price being asked. I have lowered the rating to one star. I wouldn't give it any if it were possible.
