It’s perfect
I love it. I was getting so much sun in my front door that my wreaths were melting. The door was too hot to touch. This color is perfect and the installation was so simple. It took no tools

It keeps rain off the door entrance.
Protects from rain and sun , the wind is a bit rough but it’s still up.

Looks great.
All parts are labeled and it was easy to figure out. The instructions were easy to follow, although I managed to put one part on incorrectly. Fixed it and got it working. Have it to shade the area over my patio door. I think it was a good buy and will see if it lasts the summer.

So far so good
I only have it a week but it was easy to put up by myself. The adjustable arms and the crank to get the right angle make it very easy to adjust for the sun angle and for the rain to flow off

Directions are well written; easy install
This SMONTER Manual Retractable Awning is our solution to providing shade over our French doors that lead onto our open raised porch. We discussed adding a roof, but that would be an expensive and permanent structure. Instead, the awning can be opened to shade the full-length glass doors during the brightest and hottest times of day or deflect light rain away from the doorway, and it retracts to allow full outdoor light into our living room and a full view of our yard and woodland beyond the porch. The instructions guided the two of us step by step through setup, and we used a long 48” builder’s level along with our own common household wrenches and screwdrivers. We will probably add some stabilizing straps near the top and bottom from the house to the support poles later when the weather warms up and we decide where they can be placed without interfering with opening and closing the awning. It is sturdy enough for our use, although we will leave it closed whenever there is a strong wind or it is storming and we won’t be outside anyway.

Nice but can't leave set up outdoors
I like the look of this awning - hadn't seen this style before, where you don't have to drill into your patio or garage/house wall/eaves to install. The fabric of the awning is nice, and the poles are inobtrusive. The downside to this design is that it can't be left open if there's any wind or heavy rain or snow. I leave our 9' patio umbrella out year long - although close it up for bad weather and wind. I think it is good for periodic visitors (i.e., leave it down until friends hang out outside), and/or if you don't want to commit to the cost or permanent screw holes in your hardscape and home (to install a more robust awning).
