Quality...
I was very sceptical about these wheelnut removers because there are many of these where quality is very poor and the sharp edges just wear out at first use. Firstly, they look solid, tough and durable. Each socket feels heavy in you hand and also seems to be made out of good quality metal. When I undone first wheelnut iw as surprised how this socket biten into the wheelnut and it didn't slip or made the wheelnut any worse. I am surprised that they are pretty much in the same condition after I used them twice now. There is nothing more to say tbh. They work really good and they will definitely won't be just for one time only.

Good tools but won't solve everything
These are pretty good quality tools and I would think will do the job of removing stubborn nuts and so on pretty well. I have a stuck locking wheel nut on a Peugeot 307 and I held off reviewing this tool set until I had tried them out properly. The 17mm socket did grip the locking wheel nut well enough, so well in fact that after applying a bit of torque I sheared off the top of the locking wheel stub. I must admit that was an outcome I had not foreseen!. However I think it would be unfair to mark the tool set down overly as they did, on the whole do what they were meant to, that is to say grip the rounded nut tightly enough to get to work with a tyre iron. Back to the drawing board!.

Saved the cost of having 4 locking wheel bolts removed by a garage.
This brilliant little set of 1/2" drive, heavy duty, wheel nut removal sockets have just saved my daughter from a large garage bill and not having beloved car for a day.My 18 year old daughter had somehow managed to loose the locking wheel bolt removal key for her 20 year old Toyota Yaris. (don't ask. lol) Obviously it's not a good idea for teenager to be driving around in a car that can't have the wheels changed in the event of a puncture or blow-out.To remove the four locking bolts, I simply made a diagonal cut in each of the 4 locking rings on the bolts with my Dremel cutting wheel. I then put a sharp cold chisel in the groove I'd just made, and knocked the weakened rings off with a few sharp blows from a hammer. Once they were off, I simply tapped on the 17mm removal socket on to the round ended bolt until it was nice and tight and square on to the shaft of the bolt.I then inserted my half inch drive 90 degree bar into the socket and turned it anti-clockwise just like a normal socket. As I turned, I could feel the hardened inner edges of the socket bighting into the much softer bolt. Within about 5 minutes I had removed all four bolts and saved my student daughter from an unwanted garage bill. (Just in case you are wondering what the solid steel bar is for, it's for hammering the removed bolt from the socket when you have taken it off)

Effective and Sturdy Wheel Nut Remover Set.
I recently purchased the Pronese 1/2" Drive Twist Socket Set, and overall, I'm impressed with its performance. The build quality is excellent, and it effectively removed damaged, rusted lug nuts with ease. For the price, this set offers exceptional value, providing five socket sizes (17mm, 19mm, 21mm, 22mm) along with a practical bar. The variety ensures versatility for different wheel nut sizes, making it a valuable addition to any toolbox. However, one drawback was that upon arrival, the product some kind of marks appeared on it. While this didn't impact its functionality, it would have been preferable for a new-looking set. Despite this, the Pronese Twist Socket Set remains a reliable and cost-effective tool for anyone dealing with stubborn wheel nuts.

Heavy Duty bolt removers
These nut removers are an essential addition to my toolbox, there has been a couple of occasions in the last few years when I have had to call out recovery services because my locking wheel nut key has been missing (all my fault) and I hadn’t got a replacement. I’ve tested these removers on some rounded wheel nuts on an old Land Rover that had been totally rounded off and they dig in and grip straight away, easily removing the offending nuts. The little hardened steel bar is used to knock the nut or bolt out of the remover once it’s undone, otherwise you’d be stuck with a bolt in the remover!

Seems to do the job !
I work in a garage as my job and , we get at least one car a month where the person has lost their locking wheel bolt key or the key has rounded off from poor use, we can sometimes struggle getting these bolts/nuts off and also you have to be careful not to damage the wheel , most wheels are alloy now.Never used this type before so thought it would be a good idea to try them out.Firstly you get a plastic case to hold all the sockets , this is the only thing I don't like about this set , the case feels cheap and is made out of poor quality plastic and is quite hard to clip shut after use , but so far that is the only negative. You get four sockets inside 17mm, 19mm , 21mm and 22mm which gives you a small but useful range to use. You also get a bar which I couldn't work out what it was for at first ! But realise it is to push the extracted nut/bolt from the socket , by pushing/banging it from the other sideSo I have tried these at work ,only once so far , but the results were good , most bolts/nuts have a loose ring on the bolt , so this needs to be broken off first , using a chisel or small cutter normally gets the ring off quite easily , you are then left with a bolt/nut head, select the closest size you can which will give a snug fit ( you may have to knock it on) , in my case it was the 17mm , and then once on tightly , carefully turn the socket ant-clockwise with a bar , holding it steady on the nut as you do, the design of the inside of the socket should make it bite into the bolt and then obviously turn it, the socket I used it on it worked fine and undone all four locking bolts on the car .I can see if the bolts were really tight then you may have a problem , but too be honest any tool would have a problem. So honestly from my test I can say that these do work , and are definitely worth having in your arsenal of tools , they may get you out of trouble one day !
