Shoe size and fit
My son has very oddly shaped and very wide feet. We have previously had shoes made at the hospital orthotic department but the shoes are not very exciting. These are perfect. They have a wider fit so the toes can stretch out and they are really trendy. A little expensive. Only time will tell how durable they are.

Excellent gym shoes.
If you've not worn zero drop shoes before then you're meant to get used to them gradually. Even though they're comfortable you shouldn't use them for a long hike before you've let your feet get used to them! My regular size (9) was fine I wouldn't want to size up. They're great gym shoes even on leg day. I've upgraded the laces to some *Kilter strong flat shoelaces. (140cm).

good quality
These boots are light as advertised. The Toe box is staggered to favor the big toe as being longest. Personally, my second toe is as long if not a tiny bit longer, so I can feel my second toe touching the end of the shoe occasionally, but not enough for it to be uncomfortable. I would recommend you get a half size bigger if you have a longer second toe. I wear size 13 and these fit well, just a little close on that second toe. The lacing eyelets are well constructed, allowing you to get the shoe as tight as you want it without wearing out the laces. These are the most comfortable lightweight boots I've owned. It's very fun to be able to move quickly and nimbly in a pair of supportive boots that allow you to feel the ground. Would recommend as being a fair price for what you get.

Repeat buyers.
This is the first pair we've purchased for our growing teenager. Opting for quality over cheaper alternatives is important to us, as we don't want to compromise the growth process by skimping on footwear. My husband will inherit these, and should our son outgrow the second pair we just purchased, he'll inherit those as well. After a day of hiking, there's still ample room in these boots for comfort. They are lightweight and waterproof, keeping his feet dry. I highly recommend these boots for their price and quality.

Xero is killing it with these boots! Durability of lining is an issue though.
Update: after four months of use, probably about 300 miles, the lining has worn through in the heel. Lasted longer than my previous pair of Xero, but still disappointing. Great boots while they lasted, there is plenty of tread left and the exteriors are also in good shape. If they could improve the durability of the lining these would be nearly perfect lightweight hikers. /end updateKudos to Xero for making a zero drop hiking boot that lives up to the name. Grippy sole, good protection under foot, super comfortable, good support. Big improvement from my last pair of Xero - the Xcursion - which was good but had too much volume for my foot, and not as comfortable. The Ridgeway has supplanted Lems as my go-to for hiking. Durability is unknown, just got the Ridgeway; my Xcursion wore out the lining after a few months, with lots of tread still left on the sole. Hoping that Xero has upgraded the liner material. My only suggestion: stop thinking of hiking boots as being minimalist footwear, they are not - hiking boots need to be protective and supportive which by definition is not minimalist. I have 'barefoot' shoes for day to day, but for hiking I want a stiffer sole that can edge on small rocky ledges without collapsing, and doesn't fold up / pinch my toes if I mis-step.Nonetheless, Xero has done an outstanding job with these boots!btw I ordered 11.5 for my medium-width / 11.5 feet (I can sometimes fit in 11), fit is perfect

Good hiking boots
Great fit for my foot and toes to splay. The leather makes it soft enough in the toe area while not stretching out like some other toe freedom shoes. The grip is just grippy enough. The edges are where they really chew with the floor. These soles aren’t wearing out any time soon. When wet they spread out the wetness and keep most moisture out. It has to be drenched before I feel much and then still I’m ok. Having fun walking in them, they say waterproof, they’re not. Why the mesh upper? The leather skin seems to protect from water better!
