The installation was an easy step by step process and the software worked flawlessly. I am running a Lenovo PC with Windows 7. Two very important points: You do NOT have to transfer the video from VHS to your PC and then to DVD... you can route it through the PC direct to the DVD in real time, this is great! Also, there is a window on your PC screen that shows the video being transferred and remaining time. All in all, this is one of the best purchases I ever made, I am a very happy customer and I will add this to the list of Gigaware items that have proven themselves to perform as well as much more expensive items! Review: Great Product - Works fine for me! Be sure to read and re-read the HELP file within the application as you will need to and save time. No problems with installation or running. Fantastic picture! For the price I would recommend it although there were bad reviews. Best $$ spent on technology recently

Product works well, its very useful for the price
This device does what it says it will. I used it to convert some precious VHS tapes into digital versions. It comes with software to make this possible. The only downside to the software is that to get high quality videos, the encoder makes HUGE video files. Several gigabytes for an hour of tape. Its possible that I could tweak the settings to find a more optimal encoder setting, making the file sizes smaller. In general I'm very happy with what I paid for the product and the fact that I have been able to immortalize home videos.

Oh Yeah!
This is just what the doctor ordered! I needed to bounce back from a failed similar device which I had to replace before the second one failed the exact same way the first did :/ This suited my needs perfect, loaded right up and gives back a great picture!

Gigaware is doing what it is advertised to do. ...
Gigaware is doing what it is advertised to do. My problem is my tech ability and having to learn through trial and error. I'm sure if I was answering this survey in another 2 or 3 weeks, my rating would be a 4 or 5.

Don't bother.
The provided Software sucks. You can't create a DVD from you VHS. All you can do it transfer it to your computer the burn a DVD after. You have to munipluate the VHS. If you try to burn one it tells you the file is to big. Breaks it up in segments and all you get is a shot copy. If you just use the interphase save it to your hard drive then you can burn that after with another program like Windows Media player or iTunes. Wasted countless hours of my time.
