Works a charm (once the default Intel HD Graphics settings are properly configured) on Lenovo X1 Yoga 2nd Gen PC
Got this for my wife's work computer (Lenovo X1 Yoga 2nd Gen) to get a 2nd external monitor going (other one is using the dedicated HDMI port). Initially, the 2nd external monitor was detected but did not "enable" (the monitor could not sense a signal from the dongle, but the dongle did show up in Win10 Display Preferences Settings). The solution was to go into the Intel HD Graphics settings, which does not "enable" more than one external monitor by default (WTF, Intel?!), and manually override the setting to "enable" the 2nd external monitor. Hopefully this information helps a few people.

2018 iMac to older model Cinema display
Just purchased a new iMac and the staff at the store sold me an Apple product to connect my older model LED Cinema Display. The combination worked when initially installed but failed after Apple forced a software update. From that experience, I learned that a USB 3.1 to Mini Display is required. Apple's product was a USB 3.0.This adapter worked the first time and has continued to work flawlessly with the need for any change to settings or restarts.

A similar branded adapter that looks just like this one also does not work
I use a "Korean" 27 inch 1440p IPS monitor that only accepts dual DVI / DVI-D for connection. I also have an Apple active DVI-D to mini-Displayport converter that I use with my Dell XPS 13, but I recently upgraded to the newest 2018 Dell XPS 15 with Thunderbolt 3 connector and need a mini-Displayport female to Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C male adapter. This adapter says it's compatible, but does not work with this set-up. A similar branded adapter that looks just like this one also does not work. "USB-C Type C to Mini DisplayPort Adapter" by UPTab works though!

Works exactly as promised and delivered on time
Thanks to Apple for making their new laptops such that it is impossible to survive without buying a few adaptors to carry around. This particular one has enabled me to continue using my still-perfectly-good Apple Cinema Display with the new MacBook Pro.

It works.
Did the job. Requires re-setting the firmware on the mac once in a while, but I have my 2007-era 30" CinemaDisplay working again with a 2017 Macbook Pro thanks to this little cable adapter.

TWO OF THEM STOPPED WORKING AFTER A MONTH EA
Ordered one, worked for about two weeks then died. Got a replacement and it stopped working after 3 weeks. Now I can't even get a refund...

Excelente
