Expensive Toy for the Dewalt Fan
Okay, okay, I get it. Most tradies fall into one of three categories. Makita, DeWalt or Milwaukee and it's pretty tribal out there.I fell into DeWalt not because of the tools but instead because of the TSAK system which, I really like. It's not as good as the Milwaukee but it's much cheaper. It's miles better than the Makita storage boxes which are rubbish. And one big and one half thickness box stacked fit neatly into my load bed of my pickup with the lid down. So, once I decided I love the storage I got the tools...And then the radio because yep, it fits neatly onto my storage boxes in my truck. The price is probably too much really. DeWalt know the tribal nature of tool users and price accordingly. And yet we still buy it. Who are the dummies? Anyway, that's the bad.The good is that the sound quality and volume is excellent. If you have the Makita radio then this is way, way better sounding. More base and depth of field. You can charge the 18v batteries in this as well, as long as it's plugged in of course. You can also use a battery to run it if you don't have mains around. There is a USB port inside where you can plug your phone into and the cover comes down and locks into place in a water resistant seal. You get the usual options. FM, DAB and Bluetooth as well as the little used Aux. DAB is, well spotty. Lets be honest the DAB signal in many parts of the world is pretty poor and no substitute for FM. I like Planet Rock and that's really hard to get a DAB signal for.Bluetooth is perfect and I normally connect my phone and stream via that instead.FM just works like it should.Controls are simple but less intuitive than they could be. However, like anything once you know how to use it, it's fine.I have a couple of gripes.Firstly, if you put the power brick and cable into it's internal storage it's hard to close the lid if you have a battery in place. In fact I tend to just use a 2Ahr battery if that's what I'm doing to allow more volume for the power lead to sit.The sealed lid is slightly irritating to close and lock into place. You need to be firm in just the right areas to get it closed correctly. There's no actual security lock if you have your phone in there but perhaps that's not really needed anyway. If perhaps they had a lock plus a means of securing the actual radio with a steel lanyard then that might be a good thing.Overall this is a good work radio. It's tough because of the TSTAK design, the sound is great and it charges your batteries. However, its not with issues and the price is a bit steep. Good effort but not quite a gold medal.

Good radio
Works and sounds really good, only issue is dab reception in some areas which is geographical I guess, and has been mentioned on here that you have to actually click both corners on battery/plug compartment lid to get it to close properly, all in all this is a great radio, far better than some Makita variants

Sturdy, site-proof and fantastic sound to boot!
Fantastic piece of DeWalt kit, you won't be disappointed - 3 years warranty too! (need to register it on the DeWalt website), fitting seamlessly into the TSTAK product range.Download the DeWalt "TSTAK Radio" app and away you go. Radio is almost immediately found and you're able to control the radio itself. Important to know is, the radio appears to have two different Bluetooth connections, where your phone uses only one, which may be the explanation for connectivity problems some users are experiencing in that regard. The app uses the connection, which has got a longer name. The secondary connection allows you to stream music to the radio, effectively using is as a loudspeaker for the phone (to be remembered, when receiving a call!!!).Having connected the radio through the app, the app checks and gives you the option to update the firmware of the radio, which I have done. Not sure what effect it had, but it is working fine for me.The box contains the following:1x TSTAK Radio1x UK Mains Power Supply- Only negative or annoyance point as such, but its the app, not the radio itself, the (iPhone) app tends to "time out" and closes, bringing you back to your phone main screen. This can be annoying when setting up channels etc.

Worth the price
Bought this for site work. It's loud enough to hear with power tools working, easy to set up and use. Battery fits perfectly snug along side my mobile and tucks away with out being seen. Easy to carry just like a tool box. Definitely worth the price.

Amazing.
Sound quality is superb. Tough, rugged great for out door and site work. Decent battery life as well, got a couple of 2ah ones left over, use them for this as well. Handles the radio and charging your phone.

The Daddy Of Site Radios
The media could not be loaded. This is the best radio I've ever owned. Bass Bass Bass. Control via the app what a class bit of kit. After owning a bluetooth Makita this one blows that out of the water massively. The features are great it looks stylish, robust and very well made. It fits on the tool box nicely. Thanks Dewalt. Nice site radio.

Rugged Sound Machine
Well Built as expected from Dewalt, Good Options for DAB, Bluetooth connectivity.Excellent Sound quality, and good listen length when you attach a 5Ah Battery.Charges the Battery when plugged into the mains, ready for walk about.Couple of issues that stopped it getting a 5 star.1. Battery fitment inside is a little unstable when moving the TSTAK about, I have tried 2-5Ah batteries and they can be dislodged if carried and used on a work site at the same time.2. Bluetooth connectivity can be a bit flakey if you have used several different tablets, laptops, etc to connect in the past, it can get confused as to which machine you connect next.

It's definitely worth it
It's a really good radio the sound quality and bass is amazing on this and all the features are really amazing definitely a great radio it definitely destroys its competition because my mate bought a milwaukee one which was more expensive but no where near as good as this one big difference in the quality and you can connect your phone to the dewalt radio it has built in Bluetooth which is really good so no need for a Bluetooth connector
