Confused flavors in a thin package, but cheaper than others
Confused flavors. Hard and Stale. A mix of regular flavor drops and spice drops, like a cinnamon-cherry for red and licorice-grape for the purple. They were repackaged in a thin plastic bag with a frog on it similar to the thickness of a sandwich bag. This did not keep the product fresh. A no rebuy for me.

FRESH & FLAVORFUL SPICE GUMDROPS
This is an unsolicited, uncompensated, honest review of “Spice Drops. Assorted Flavors, 2.5 pound package” as offered on amazon. For the moment, I’ll just refer to this product as “generic”. My wife and I both love the taste of spiced gum drops and have sampled many different brands purchased from both stores and on-line vendors. The flavors vary widely. We decided to make a “taste test” between this product and the nationally popular “Brach’s Spice Drops”. We ordered the 2.5 pound bag of the “generic” spice drops and a 3-pack (13 oz each) of the Brach’s on July 5th. Both products contain six different colors/flavors in their packages. Having read most of the descriptions and reviews, it couldn’t be determined what flavors were contained in the generic product. They arrived in a zip-loc style bag with no branding. A label on the bag states that it was Packed By Pre-Ship Inc., Somerset NJ. On amazon, it states that the Brand for these spice drops is “Bayside Candy”. Googled Bayside Candy, but could not associate their spice drops with these on amazon. As for the taste test, starting with the generic product, they arrived soft and FRESH. To the best of my taste buds’ ability, I determined the following color/flavor associations: RED: toss-up between Cinnamon & Clove; ORANGE: Cinnamon; YELLOW: Clove; WHITE: Peppermint; PURPLE: Anise (black licorice); & GREEN: Spearmint.BRACH’S also arrived soft and FRESH. The flavors listed on the packaging are Peppermint, Wintergreen, Anise, Orange, Cinnamon, and Clove. As sampled: RED: Anise; ORANGE: Orange Fruit; YELLOW: Cinnamon; WHITE: Clove; PURPLE: Peppermint; GREEN: Wintergreen. At the end of the day, the flavors of the “generic” spice drops were more robust, and the color/flavor associations seem more logical (a small detail). As ordered, the generic brand was listed at $0.29 per ounce, the Brach’s at $0.49 per ounce. I’d encourage other reviewers to do similar tests and post their reviews.

It came on time
Some of the candy pieces had a sharp, not fruity taste.

Favor was not as expected
While the gum drops seemed soft and refresh, the favor was a perfume fruity and not spicy. Won't be ordering again.

Spice Gum Drops
This is the second order for the spice gum drops. The first was terrible, but these more than made up for the stale drops from the previous order. Excellent flavor and very fresh. Perhaps my previous review spurred some changes. If you want spice gum drops, this particular bag was very good.
