Initial impressions
First let me list all the good points about this composter made in India. It arrived phenomenally well packaged and labeled. Instead of stuffing the containers with Styrofoam, they added a couple of bags of compost starter (Remix), made mostly of coconut coir. Comes with excellent instructions, which I laminated and hung up in my kitchen. So, despite of not having any plastic parts, everything arrived intact and within less than a week (shipping from the U.S.). It is attractive and really blends well into just about any yard I can imagine. The only negative so far, the pieces--being hand-made--don't fit perfectly on top of each other. Regardless of how I turn them, there is always a couple of gaps visible between the bottom of one container and the top of the next, which has already attracted a few flies on a really warm day. I have solved the problem (I think), by being particularly careful to cover the kitchen scraps completely and by spraying citronella around the edges of the containers and on the outside. Temperatures here are only in the sixties now, so not much composting activity so far. Being new too composting, I also don't have "a feel" for how moist it should be. I will say, though, that I am glad this one has four compartments. I think during the winter it will be easy to fill up all four before the bottom one is finished as it doesn't collapse as much as it will during active composting season. I stir it twice a week and find it quick an easy. I usually lift two pots at a time, but for people with back issues, one pot is not too heavy when full. Will update when there has been more activity. Spring is just around the corner here in the desert SW.Update: Never having composted before, there was a learning curve to find the right moisture content. Once, I let it get too dry and found it has attracted ants. However, as soon as I remedied the issue, they disappeared and have not bee back since.I am amazed how much scraps it hold and composts. I have not yet emptied the bottom pot, even though it looks "done" to me. The top pot is still empty. I just keep filling each pot close to the rim with material from the pot above and as it composts, it loses volume.I eat vegan and only compost organic food scraps. The slightly uneven sizes are no longer a concern. I would prefer they stacked a bit more solid, but even in bad weather they have never even shifted.Love that I can compost without plastic. Highly recommended for smaller households.

A great unit
This is a beautiful compost container. The profile is slim so it fits nicely in a small space but the stackable units allow composting to continue at various stages. I like that the materials are non plastic and natural. The delivery was fast and well packaged but despite the protective bubble wrap and care one of the units was broken upon arrival. Seller replaced right away. Great customer service.Update: I started composting in February and put the unit in my garage. Several months later and everything is going well. The remix was really helpful- thank you for including this. Highly recommend.

It’s still pretty
This came extremely well packaged and undamaged. It has a black discoloration on part of it that I wish wasn’t there but I'm not sending it back. I saw video’s about these composters years ago but they were not available in the US then. I’m so glad they are available now. Thank you to Ecorich and the innovative ladies in India. Now I’m on my way to turn waste into wonder!
