This knife sharpening kit by MinoSharphas been specially developed for use with professional quality kitchen knives. If you follow the detailed instructions enclosed, you can achieve spectacular results, even exceeding the knives ex-factory sharpness levels ! It is the recommended way to keep your knives in the best condition for use. The two sided combination whetstone offers two degrees of coarseness for honing a knife's edge. The blue coloured side has a Medium Finish (1000 Grit) for honing a knife's dull edge, this is the main stone required for sharpening knives which have become blunt. The yellow coloured side has a Super Fine Finish (8000 Grit) and is used in the second step of honing, this should be used to finely hone your knife. The 8000 grit is almost the same grit and quality of a natural whetstone used to sharpen Japanese Samurai swords. Using this stone will help you keep your knife sharper, for longer periods. The whetstone requires submersion in water for at least 10 to 15 minutes before it can be used. Key Product Features and Product Description provided by Brandcentre

Rebranded Naniwa superstones
Rebranded Naniwa superstones. Loads up fast, cuts slow and and is soft. Expensive for what you're getting. Better to just get a single Naniwa professional 1000 or 800 for splash and go. If a soaking stone is not minded Suehiro Cerax 1000 is good. For home use 8000 grit is not needed certainly not this Minosharp.
