My Nexus 5X has a gel case and it fits this perfectly. Much better that having to plug it into a cable and leave it on my desk.Only slight niggle point is that you need two hands to remove the phone - One to hold the base whilst the other removes the phone. No big deal and don't let it put you off buying it.It feels sturdy too.

Works well however phone connecter sticks out too high and phone therefore does not sit in cradle fully. Looks like it may snap off at some point in the future.

Do not buy, does not physically support phone
I would not recommend this product. The phone is not physically supported at all by the case. The only thing that is designed to hold the phone in position is the charge point which is held vertically which makes the phone unstable and puts a lot of strain on the charging point of the phone
