if you were serious about training then I wouldn't recommend this one
This arrived quite quickly, and in a very large box. Inside was another box with the trainer inside. It's packed well, with polystyrene holding the metal in place. The boxes were reasonably light, did expect them to be heavier than they were. The trainer folds open, then there is another bit that you fold back again - the bit that turns with your bike.I did have a problem with fixing my bike to the stand. I don't have a quick release wheel, and one of the bolt nuts of the wheel didn't fit inside the sliver bit it was supposed to. In the end, I took it and the silver bit to a well known car/cycle shop. The only thing they could do was file down the nut a bit so that most of it fitted inside. I also bought new nuts (yes, I am well aware of how this sounds), for my bike for when I'm out on the roads again. It was a slight struggle getting it fixed on, but I managed by myself. I didn't use the spoke thing that was sent with it. Not even sure if I was supposed to.For actual usage, the bike is a little high for me, and it does make a noise which is a bit irritating. You do have to get off and adjust the back wheel bit of the trainer for different speeds, if you were serious about training then I wouldn't recommend this one, but for just a bit of keep fit now and again it's fine.

Not for me I am afraid.
Ok, I know a lot of people put great reviews there and maybe it is just because I don't know how to do it but I don't like it. First to assemble, there are 4 holes and 4 screws. 2 holes match and 2 don't. I spent over thirty minutes moving the thing but in the end I have two tight screws and 2 half way screwed. Then the tools provided couldn't do the job so I had to use mine to fix the rest. Once assembled, I tried my bike on it. Mine has 26 inches wheels and I had to put the tension screw up to the very end so my wheel could touch the silver roller. It was easy enough to tighten the bike as I don't have quick release wheels so it fitted on the bolts without changing anything. I was aware that in some previous reviews, some were complaining of having no tension at all. I thought as I am totally unfit that I would feel some but sure enough, even with high gears on, there is very little tension. So if you want a proper work out, do not buy this item. When I took the bike off the trainer, it took me a while as the bolts were kind of stuck to the trainer and it was kind of frustrating. But then again, maybe it is me who does not know how to do things properly. Anyway, my first experience with it hasn't been a good one. Noise wise, it is not as bad as people are saying. I have very thick mountain bikes tyres and yes they do make a bit of noise but nothing too bad.On the positive side, the seller is super effective. Ordered on Sunday and got it on Tuesday. Nothing wrong the seller at all, it is just this product is not for me I am afraid. If I get any better, I will review it later.

Very good but check but check the wheel size of your bike and axle.
This arrived the day after ordering on my Prime delivery. It took no time to set up. The bike it was intended for has 26 inch wheels but a solid rear axle so I couldn't fit the supplied quick release bolt which requires a hollow axle. I fitted it to my Trek bike but this has 700mm wheels and the wheel just touched the carpet - warning this will leave a black mark in use and removing that will test your carpet cleaning skills. I put a small wedge in the device's hinge mechanism so that it didn't open quite as far and this kept the wheel off the carpet. A bit noisy but this is with quite chunky tyres the older bike that I couldn't fit will be worse so I intend to get a new tyre or for a quick changeover complete wheel and slick road tyre with chainset wheel. An old Raleigh Max so not sure how available these will be? My daughter advises use on a mat if on carpet and this catches the black dust which will appear. This should also reduce the noise if a suitable mat is used. I am probably going to look into a variable resistance device tpo bolt on in place of the single setting one. The hardest option using the bike's gears is not as tough as an exercise bike we used to have.In answer to doubts expressed by others it comes with a front wheel chock/ stand. For the money this does what I expected well. I think for a bit more the variable option should be looked at and also the axle of the rear wheel of the bike you intend to use on it.

Really loud, but okay for the price
It comes in a very large box and takes about ten minutes to set up. There is a replacement quick release skewer that fits the turbo trainer perfectly and also a riser block for the front wheel. The one with the variable speed was not available (Amazon gave the impression that it would never be available) so I had to order the single speed version. If you set it up as a spinning bike, it's quietish but if you change the gears to make it harder to pedal it starts to get really noisy, enough that I was fearing the neighbours three houses down would soon be complaining. I was going to get up early in the morning to use it, but with the noise it makes that will now be impossible.Other that the noise, for the price it is a solid piece of kit and should do until you can upgrade to a fluid turbo trainer which are whisper quiet and which Wiggle sell for £160.

Brilliant `gear`
Others have already said what I might write here. But I`ll add my bit anyway. I`m pretty heavy at 17 stone + and the Unit coped admirably. Assembly was fairly swift and easy although the left hand rear hub nut wasn`t a good fit right into the Unit like the right hand one (don`t know why). Also, I couldn`t see the need for the added sprung spindle they supply as the one on my muddy-fox bike has all the gears etc already mounted and I could see no way of removing the rear spindle from the bike.I actually found the Unit fairly quiet but when I really gave it some welly it whined it`s little heart out. I shut my eyes and dreamt I was up for another `gold` until my wife reminded me that at 66 there was no way I`d be in the velodrome - oh well, Jason Kenny has nothing to fear, one can but dream.I was initially going to buy some rollers until I saw the cost. This Unit is fantastically cheap for what you get for your money so I hope to offset the pounds I paid with the pounds I hope to shed. This is a fantastic seller and I highly recommend them to anyone.Love it, love it, leeeeeeeeeerve it.
