Spice of rice ...
Love the spice of life, discovered it a Izakaya some years ago down in SoCal ... great on plain rice or with a touch soy sauce. Bit of kick, flavor and spice without breaking out into sweat.

The ONLY chili powder I use as a condiment!
I've been using this Ichimi for years. It goes great with Asian dishes, and mild Indian curries that might need an extra kick. The heat is well balanced, has a nice flavor, and doesn't overwhelm. It works wonderful as a condiment; like a hot sauce but won't alter the flavor of your dish. It's not "heavy" like adding a chili powder; cayenne or Kashmiri powder for example (which works wonders as an ingredient incorporated with other spices) but doesn't work well as a condiment IMO.The powder comes from an actual Japanese pepper called "Santaka". It is similar to Kashmiri chili powder which I use in many Indian curry dishes, but has much higher scoville heat units, thus more of a "bite".I always keep a reserve of this chili powder.Great seller! Bottles always arrive fresh with 2-3 years before expiration.Note: Do not confuse this spice with "Shichimi" sometimes labeled as "Nanami" which is a Japanese blend of Ichimi and six other ingredients.. Ichimi is 100% chili powder.

Great Spice
If you ever visit Japan or any good Japanese restaurant in the US. They will or should have this on the table ready to spice up your dish. I got this to add flavor and a little spice to my eggs, chicken and curry dishes when I make them. Excellent product. The spicy flavor it adds is not overpowering makes the dish better in my opinion.

Excellent product, bottles had sticky residue thougb
These two bottles are packaged together in such a way that both bottles have a sticky residue once they’re deployed for use. I’ll be making the trip to the Asian grocery store for a non-sticky bottle. The product itself, the spice inside, is excellent of course.

Small in size but packs a big flavor punch!
This is just what I needed..beside hot sauces of different brands..dried pepper flakes..n sampling flavor profiles of the world!!! This is a new staple for my home. I love both spicy but not just for heat. I want it to add to the flavor profile of my dish. I can get hot n burning by just heating something up... I can get spicy from mere peppers..but this enhances the various dishes I've used it in and on...from soups to graveys to fish and crusting batter to even flavoring my Savoy mufffins! Yes. Big business in this small bottle!

Husband is OBSESSED with this!
We saw this type of pepper on a cooking show and hubby loves spicy stuff. So I found it on Amazon and this was a good amount for a good price. Recommended.

Shake to mix up before use! Great heat from very little spice
My first use at the table was kind of a shock really hot, other reviewers mentioned as well. What I think is going on is all the chili migrated to the top. I could not taste any other spices. After shaking the jar up to mix its content its tamed down considerably. This mix may be free of additives or fillers. Its strong. I like the single hole in the shaker top and can target the correct amount easily after familiarization. Hold it higher for broad distrbution of the spice. While many on Amazon sell this brand this vendor gives two for one in price.
