Next to no instructions!
I was excited to put this together with my 9 year old Vrandson. Dissappointed that the instructions consisted of it basically saying look at the picture included and guess where the parts go. Seriously?! The numbers and letters of all the punch out pieces did not even correspond. The next time I visit him, I hope we can get it figured out. I sure wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Sure to cause plundering and destruction
As stated by previous posters, this model is a beast to build. I've built a lot of models in my day and between the sub par instructions and the terrible design, the model never got built. After two hours of my my wife and I trying to get it together with our six year old, he's moving on to another, more intelligent family and my wife and I are getting divorced. If you're looking for a good way to break up a stable home, this is a sure fire win matey.

I feel better when I saw the three reviews before mine
I feel better when I saw the three reviews before mine. I broke a piece when I tried to help my child join two side pieces to it. The sides are supposed to bend, but the material was too hard and stiff. Otherwise, this is a fun set to build.

Neat Idea -- But Model Cannot Be Built
This combination book and model is a great idea, but the model itself cannot be made to work. I am an experienced, competition level modeler, and this ship just will not go together. If you can find this for a good price, it may teach your child a valuable lesson in disappointment or in managing frustration.

Model Ship is impossible to build
My son received this set as a gift. We tried building it together, but the pieces just don't fit. We gave up about 1/3 of the way though. We've built complicated balsa wood models together in the past, and they turned out great. This design is flawed.

No instructions. Super frustrating.
No instructions. Pieces will not fit. I resorted to paying my 16 year old to help my 10 year old and I assemble the beast.
