These fit as expected, but would say they're slightly thinner than I was expecting. I'm quite happy with my son doing some serious bmx racing wearing these, but they haven't really been tested with a fall yet. They're clearly very comforable and easier to pedal with vs. a thicker bulkier pad, and I think they will offer enough protection, so for now I'm quite happy.

I got these to protect my knees when practising diving to score in touch rugby. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they stayed up! The knee pad is great to protect the knee. Added protection for the shins too. There was a slight irritation at the back of my leg where the seam rubbed a bit but otherwise there were really quite comfortable to wear. Not especially cheap but do the job well.
