Maxit Headgator Review
I purchased this neck gaiter at Paragon Sports about 9 years ago, and it became an instant favorite piece of clothing for weather below 45 degrees. Whether for skiing, running, or just walking around the city, I would not leave the house without it.I purchased an additional one, and then over the next five years lost one, and stretched out the other beyond practical use.Since then, I have been looking for replacements, in every sporting good store imaginable. All these years later, and I have finally found the replacement here on Amazon. Incredible. This gaiter is superior because the material is the perfect thickness for the most versatile use situations. Perfect for running and skiing. Not too tight, not too loose. Material thickness is perfect, keeping a thin feeling but offering substantial wind and cold protection.Length of this gaiter is superior, because you can pull it up to your eyes, and there is still plenty of material at the bottom of your neck, so all areas are covered. My previous ones underwent very intense use over many winters and held up great. I'm sure I will get many winters out of this one.If you have looked in stores for this type of neck gaiter and know how few options there are, and that the options that exist are mostly lame: too thick material, too short, too tight, etc etc are out there, jump on this one, it's simply the best...

They are better than most other sleeping masks because they can't spin ...
My husband and I use these as sleeping masks, and they work perfectly for that purpose! They are better than most other sleeping masks because they can't spin around and get out of position over your eyes (since they are just a smooth loop of fabric). Also, they are made out of a nice thick opaque somewhat elastic material, so they don't let light it, and they have held up well over the years despite washing in the washing machine many times. Mine also helps keep my hair smooth and flat while I sleep, so I don't wake up with a huge colic or tangle of hair in the back of my head in the morning. Overall, we highly recommend this product, though not exactly for the origin purpose!

Useful, simple...
I'm a novice hiker and am learning from a friend. While on my first hike with him, he was wearing a gaiter, a piece of headgear I had never heard of. He explained that gaiters can convert to multiple types of headgear depending on the situation. It was time to put that advice to the test, so I picked this product up.My first use was sitting in the stands at a High School football game on a cold, New England Saturday. I used it as a balaclava, covering my head, neck and most of my face. My head was hot. My second use was hiking/climbing Mt Monadnock in NH. I put one open end over my head, just covering the ears and left the other end open on top. This provided just the right amount of protection from the elements and allowed some heat to escape, preventing overheating during a rather strenuous hike.I value simple products that perform their intended purpose extremely well and don't try to be something they're not. This product definitely does that for me and is well worth it.

Perfect for my job!
This is absolutely the perfect solution for me! I am a animal exercise expert (dog walker-lol) and I have clients that need my attention as early as 5:30 AM and as late as 8 PM-that means before and after the sun comes up or sets. This translates to quickly dropping temps that needs extra layering against the elements. Scarves are impractical when trying to tend to the dogs out on their walks. I need to be hands-free to handle leashes, treats, and poop-bags-fussing with slipping, unwinding, hanging, scarves just doesn't cut it. This gaiter is perfect to protect my neck and throat or to pull up to warm my ears against the wind chill. It adapts quickly to my needs, folds small if I want it handy in my pocket for a weather change, and doesn't get caught in coats, sweatshirts, seatbelts, etc, which I find a plus as I am in and out of the car all day long as I go to each client's home. Absolutely Love, Love, Love the solution it has provided me to adapting to our quickly changing weather conditions with ease.

Good for those cool morning motorcycle rides!
I had recently lost my balaclava that I use for cooler motorcycle rides. I have a full-face helmet but the bottom of my chin and neck get cold and wind-burned when it's below 50°F. I figured I'd give this a try and it's working out quite well. I could generally ride into the mid-30s with my old balaclava and it looks like I'll be able to do the same with this. It keeps the wind off my chin and it's pretty warm as well. I just keep it around my neck, pull a small portion over my chin and that's enough to keep things comfortable. A family member spent some time in Iraq several years ago and brought his back when he returned home. It's since been handed down to my brother - who uses it for hunting in colder weather.

Good material, warm, hard to breathe through, awkwardly shaped.
This product didn't really work for me. The material is good quality, although it's a little difficult to breathe through, and I found myself pulling it down on the ski slopes so I could catch my breath. It did keep me warm, but the shape and design doesn't really provide protection for your nose and ears at the same time - it's either one or the other (if you wear it over your nose, it won't cover your ears, and to keep it on your ears you have to slide the edge under your chin). It's just a simple tube shape, but humans aren't tube shaped.
