Sally Ride: The First American Woman in Space (Crabtree Groundbreaker Biographies) Paperback – Import, 15 August 2010

My granddaughter in 2nd grade had to give a report in school and there was very little in the library. Most of the children's books were out of stock. I saw this one and thought it was a little old for her, but I got it anyway thinking she could get something out of it.She reads at a 5th grade level and it was just right for her. She couldn't put it down! I paged through it and learned some very interesting things about Sally that I never knew. For instance, she left college to become a professional tennis player. Fortunately she learned that she was good enough and went back to school and the rest is history.

A great motivational read for young people. It met my expectation of finding a book for girls to read about famous women in aviation.

I was very pleased with this book. Easy reading, good information/facts, just the right amount of photos. Nice concise biography of Sally Ride.

Helped granddaughter with research.
