I bought this as a gift for a surfer-friend. The statue is a lot smaller than I anticipated, and it doesn't really "surf". Based on the way the statue looks - and the fact that it's called "MOTION" Art - I assumed that the surfer would be able to swing or move, replicating a surfing-type motion. But it BARELY moves at all. Because of the way the the piece that holds the surfer is designed, it actually bangs into the main pole when you try to make it move, limiting how far it can go, and causing it to stop moving altogether after only 1-2 swings. ... I was definitely disappointed when my friend opened the gift, and would not recommend anyone buy this.

The surfer isn't surfing. He's standing sideways. The image and video showed surfer actually going the right direction on board. Ours is sideways and looks dumb.
