Waterproof H1 2mm Icehood, One Size

I gave this 5 stars because it is by far the best product of its type currently out there. The last version of the Henderson ice cap worked better but it was not made to last. Henderson no longer makes an ice cap. The directions on the product say to wear it over your hood but I wear it the same as I did with the Henderson. I dive wet with it in Massachusetts and use a 7 mill hooded vest. I put the H1 hood on then mask then pull the regular hood over that. The key with the hood is to get a good seal. The seal is on the hood not on the skin so your mask must fit with the hood. I can't use my Cressi big eyes due to the seal issue. I use my Tulsa liberator and get a good seal with that.The big thing with the ice cap hood is that the warmth it gives is incredible. My dive experience is muCh better with this type of hood. It is worth the hassle of leaking mask to be warm.

Comfortable, Yes! However, the only air hole is nose piece. No additional hole for mouth. Nose, area feels scrunched up against my face, not that bad. This mask feels more like a Paintball mask. Be great if this comes with shoulder flap or built in with a vest but add mouth holes

Swim lower Columbia near mouth year round. In the coldest conditions, I use this as a liner for a 7mm hoodie. Cut the mouth a little large to facilitate breathing. Now, absolutely the warmest of the warm. You may look like a martian bank robber exiting the water but would you rather look like Farrah Fawcett and be freezing or like a FREAK and be warm. YOU DECIDE!

Hood is well made, like all Waterproof items. But, it's too small/not strethcy enough to actually wear over another hood ov any significant thickness. I wear a size 7 1/4 hat and a size Large hood. I can wear this hood just fine on it's own, but I cannot fit it over a 7mm hood. And since the ice hood is for use in cold water, it's fairly important that it fits over a thick hood. If you have a smaller head (maybe using a size M hood), then this would be great. It could also be good in warm waters where you are worried about contact with jellyfish, although you may have a break at your neck depending on how high your wetsuit goes up your neck. The holes all come very small, so you need to trim to fit your mask and regulator.

I had to cut the mouth larger for the reg to fit but it worked great and covered my face and lips ..In the pic I am on the right , my DB is not wearing his.
