Best part about these is that you arent bound to just lithiun batteries for their use. They are capabke of such daily high-current use, I found them to be a spectacular substitute for older Mazda and Ford radiator fans! I have one of those four-conductor sockets that had caught fire from old age and corrosion buildup, so I chopped it out and replaced it with the XT connector. Its best to wrap the two sockets with harness tape after its assembled, just so it cant be easily separated. These arent locking-type connectors, but the pins are strong at retaining their original holding pressure and dont simply come loose unless pulled at. These XT90's also do well at high-temperature resistance, so they wont immediately melt down during initial soldering. Dont take that as a claim that they are indestructible or anything though, as anything made of plastcs can eventually be melted down one way or another. The rear strain-relief insulator sleeve makes these about the best connector you would find for safer use with higher voltage lithium batteries. That collar provides protection from the wires becoming chafed at the back during disconnect procedure and provides just a little bit more grip for your hands to pull the pair apart. I do like this feature alot. It also protects your polyolefin shrink wrap tubing from being pulled away or un-sealed at the solder connection inside. Gold plating keeps the inner conducting pins from corroding or quickly oxidizing. High current capability is retained for long life of the product itself and reliable function of . . Well, of my vehicle radiator fan, in this case. Very nice connectors indeed. ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡

I have standardized on XT30 for small planes/cars and XT60 for the bigger stuff.These connectors work well, and solder nicely with a good cleaning and some flux. Always remember to slide the supplied heat shrink on the wire BEFORE you solder the wire to the terminal. The supplied tubing is decent but be gentle if you use a lighter.

I use these all the time, as well as XT-60 conectors for all sorts of battery powered hobby type projects. These are great, as they have a built in spark arrester for situations which don't have soft-start or something for capacitor charging. I use these for my custom battery packs I'll make for electric vehicles, or higher power drones. These fit fine, and with some force the contact cable covers worked fine, just make sure to not overheat these as the contacts can move around!
