It will not disappoint.
If you are looking for a reliable effects pedal or getting into the world of synth guitar then the GP-10 is fantastic. The amp tones are true (to my ear) to what they are modeling. The effects are great. The synth capabilities add a new dimension to my playing or what I'm able to do. Here are some of the specific features that I love and use all the time.1. You can change guitar tunings with a dial. If you use the GK Pickup for your guitar and amp modeling then you can switch between guitar tunings with a button or by setting a patch. You don't have to constantly retune in a set or have multiple guitars tuned differently. It's all handy in one box which is great.2. The companion app on the computer makes editing patches easy and quick. (But please be careful when you're installing drivers)3. Everything is saved and you get the same guitar tone every time you play. You don't need to run it though and amp, you can put it directly into the PA and it sounds great.4. The patches change instantly. When you hit the pedal, the patches load right up. Very handy in a live setting. All in all this is worth the investment. I've always been a digital player and this box and pickup gives me the most versatility I've ever had.

Worth every penny
Digital / MIDI / Analog effects are superb! Use without pickup with COSM effects from standard guitar input if you want, and the effects for that alone are incredible. With the pickup, it is an endless world of possibility. The guitar models (acoustics (including Gibson J45 and a Sitar!), electric bass, electric guitar, and synth guitars are unbelievably well done. Record six strings to separate tracks, Midi, or stereo out (WAV). The interface is pretty easy to use, and the Boss Tone Studio software is fantastic, and is laid out nicely, and goes "full screen" , as it should. Installed double side tape method on Strat Deluxe, and just went atop the pickguard in bridge area, and it didn't take that long. Recommend trying removing one string, as you would with a normal string change, install the pickup, and then replace the remaining strings one at a time. Anyway, Worth every penny.

nice sounds, windows 10 driver released
Arrived in a timely manner. Connection went smooth on my guitar with gk-2a pickup already installed. Sounds aplenty and beautiful connected directly into amp.But purchased primarily for midi, digital recording use. To date there are no updated drivers from Roland/Boss for windows 10. Sent message to roland/boss customer service, received reply that a driver is under testing. Until there are updated drivers this unit will sit by my amp for occasional sweet sounds. I'll update my midi/computer experience when/if unit can run on my win 10 system. I regret not realizing that an OS driver was not available.update 31 Aug 2015: Roland releases driver for usb connectivity. Initial tests of software are successful. In time I'll see how it matches up with ableton live for midi recording.

E Strings don't register
I've been playing with this new unit for more than 6 hours in pickup alignment/spacing, unit settings, and various support/forums trying to get high notes and anything on the low E string to register. Might be a defective unit...?

Perfect match with Godin Guitars
I bought this effects unit to use with my Godin ACS-SA nylon string guitar (with a 13-pin connector) to replace my old Roland GR unit. It works perfectly as a Midi interface to track the Godin guitar strings and also provides great effects as a traditional effects pedal. The Boss is well worth its price!

Very sweet, comprehensive
Great tracking guitar synth with almost imperceptible lag that also has tons of effects, amps and cabinets. I'm in love. Some of the synth patches are very touchy and require extra careful picking, but a number are completely amazing including the Pat Metheny guitar synth sound. I haven't tried using it as a midi controller yet, not sure how that tracks.Installing the pickup is not for the faint of heart, I had to remove the strings several times and also needed to mix and match the spacers to get the right height and then the spacer sticky didn't stick so I ended up drilling holes through the spacers and into my vintage Rickenbacker electric. That and one hole to attach the control box.But entirely worth it, this box is all I could ask for and more. The editor lets you load from the online library as well as any other libraries/patches you have access to and tweak to your heart's content. Really well done.

Really doesn't make sense to have a synth with this.
IDK.. the synth aspect of this (which is why I got it) is basically pointless. Its a multi-effect unit, and a great one maybe, but why the synth? It has very few synth sounds. The modeling is ok.... but I was hoping for something that truly embraced the synth pickup. I ended up.returning it after about a week of trynna get some sounds dialed in. Meh.
