Add in your own sautéed beef and tomato paste and you have a tasty meal!
I love shelf stable mixes like these because they are so convenient and easy to make when I'm short on time. No, it doesn't taste like fully homemade from scratch chili but it's a good substitute when I'm in a pinch. You get six 9.11 oz bags of mix in the package. I opted for the Hearty Chili flavor as soup and stew season is right around the corner! :)This isn't a ready to eat product. You do need to add some of your own ingredients. The mix itself contains pinto beans, red beans, long grain white rice, chili powder and other spices. For the basic instructions, you will need one 6 oz can of tomato paste to add into the mix. You CAN eat it that way but we preferred it with some added beef. I sautéed some lean ground beef and chopped onions and added it into the chili mix. I topped mine with some shredded cheddar cheese. It was soooo good! If beef isn't your thing, you can always use ground turkey or just add in some kidney beans or black beans for some extra protein and fiber. You can always spruce up the mix with additional spices, too. My husband added some jalapenos to his for some extra heat. The chili straight out of the bag isn't overly spicy. I'm a spicy food wimp and I didn't find it to be spicy at all!

Doesn't really feed 8
8 servings doesn't equate to serving 8. If this is the only thing you are eating, 1 pack is lucky to serve 2-3 people to be full. Having said that, these packets are easy to use and preparation only takes a few minutes in the microwave.Quality is so-so. The noodles were very broken up and soggy. A LOT of sodium. If you have more than 1 serving, you are going to have a lot of sodium in your system. Great if you want to help rehydrate and replace electrolytes, but on a regular day, anything more than 1 serving is too much sodium for your daily needs.Chicken 'flavored' noodle soup. No chicken included. A little disappointed.

Chicken soup tastes great
First, I want to mention that I received this product for evaluation. I planned to use the ReadyWise Simple Kitchen Chicken Noodle Chicken Flavored - Soup Mix to prepare soup. I expect that it tastes good. This product has met all of my expectations, and the quality is great. This soup tastes very good. Each bag is for eight servings, but this would be if the soup is served as an appetizer. The instructions said that you could add shredded chicken but we tried it without it. I prepared half of the pouch contents for two people, so I sifted the seasonings first and then weighted the rest. The seasonings were about 3/4 of a cup. I cooked it in the microwave without problems. The noodles were appropriately soft, and the dried vegetables were well hydrated. I liked this soup very much.

This takes a little doctoring
It has flavor but there seems to be no salt ,I consider this a base and you build on it with your own flavors and choices of meat and or vegetables te first time I made it as is to understand the flavor profile . The second time I added my own spin and made chili lol . Think of it as a base and you will be amazed at what you come up with.

Thin soup with mostly broth. No flavor, very bland. Pack of 6 is a good value.
I've been eating a lot of soup lately probably because it's so easy to be honest. So I was excited to make this soup for my family and it was simple to make - add to boiling water and simmer for about 15 minutes. Made a package of this one night and we were so disappointed. This was probably the worst tasting soup I've ever had. It was so bland and had very little flavor. The listing for the soup says its hearty but it's so thin and hardly anything but broth.Originally, I thought maybe I added too much water and that's why it was so thin but I cooked it again and double checked the amount of water and the soup came out the same way - thin, bland, and very little flavor.I haven't tried yet but it's possible to add your own ingredients to this soup to improve it. You could add your own chicken and other ingredients but it may not be worth while because it will take a lot to improve this soup, in my experience. This is the tortilla soup so it's possible that some of the other soup is better and actual hearty. This comes in a pack of 6 which all together makes a lot of soup. I do think it's a great value for what you're getting but I still come back to the soup not being very good in the first place.

easy to use, makes old-fashioned chicken noodle soup
I prepared this soup exactly as directed on the package except I boiled it longer because I found that the noodles weren't cooked enough after eight minutes (even when starting with water that was at a rolling boil). I added chopped up rotisserie chicken and it produced a really good chicken noodle soup which reminded me of a better version of the famous canned version that I grew up with. The flavor profile includes celery flavoring, but there is no celery in it. It does have visible dried carrots which tasted pretty good after rehydrating. The noodles were pretty average, but were tender and had a nice chew after cooking. I ate this as it was a few times, then reheated it with shredded cheese that I stirred in and that added a next level velvety texture and creaminess to it. I found this to be a very good soup mix as a low-effort alternative to canned soup.

Nice savory flavor
This mix has a pleasant savory (earthy almost) flavor to it. And while preparing this soup mix as described on the package is super easy, I typically just add this to my slow cooker bean soups, at the tail end of cooking, and to sort of liven the meal up. This way I can enjoy the flavor of the soup mix, but with more bulk to the soup.

super gassy after taking the soup
The chili is a typical chili soup. I enjoyed the spicy flavor but found it to be a bit salty when first having the soup as is for lunch. The major complain was not the taste but gassy. Four family members were super gassy after had this soup. Maybe 4 people to finish a bag is too much? This gassy issue made us hesitating having it again.
