044084"MM P3" Digital Multimeter, Red/Black

I was looking for a nice small credit card sized multimeter to keep on my tool belt at all times. The Fluke 101 was just too big, and I didn't like the design of the Amprobe offerings.A pocket multimeter is going to be used for voltage and continuity 99% of the time. So I'll focus on those functions. The auto-ranging is acceptably fast when testing for voltage. This meter is NOT true-RMS, but it was within 1% when compared against my other true-RMS meters. The continuity tester is VERY fast. One reason I passed on the Fluke 101 was because the continuity tester was appreciably slow because it had a latched style connection. On the MM P3, you can rake the probe over the terminals without pausing at each one to look for shorts. Very helpful for troubleshooting. The capacitance testing feature is a pretty sweet bonus for a multimeter this small. I haven't had a chance to test the amperage features, and I doubt I ever will. I have a more robust Fluke 17b+ for those purposes. Based on another review, it seems the diode test doesn't provide enough voltage to test some LED's, but that's a bit of a quibble. I know the Amprobe DM78C is better for that. Beyond that it has relative measurements, frequency, and duty cycle! That's approaching the functionality of my full-size meters!The build is super solid and feels really nice in your hands. The detents on the selector dial feel very distinct and aren't too difficult to move.The major drawback of this one is the lack of options for probes. Sure it would be nice if you could remove the probes and change them, but that would almost certainly contribute to larger size. The Fluke 101 copes with this by offering probe inputs on the bottom. I would also prefer a means to hang it via magnetic holder. and a back-light would be nice, but all those things would almost certainly make this a bulkier carry.

I have used it in very places where I needed make a unexpected measure.

Quality stuff -- made in Germany. Amazing number of measurements for the size! Includes a holster.

Das Messgerät ist präzise, hat eine sehr intuitive (wer liest schon Anleitungen?), einfache Bedienung. Das Gerät ist in der Tasche prima aufgehoben, Etwas Dick, aber das bietet ja auch Schutz, deshalb sehe ich da kein Problem.

Gutes Gerät gute Verarbeitung. Die Hülle ist etwas steif, aber das wird sicher noch.

Das Messgerät ansich ist nicht schlecht aber die Tasche löst sich nach nicht einmal 1 Monat in Wohlgefallen auf. Finde ich jetzt nicht so schön

Messungen im MilliVolt und MegaOhm-Bereich: erste Werte waren realistisch, konnten aber anschließend nicht wiederholt werden. Ein Ersatzgerät wurde von einem Elektrofachmann, der sich auch mit Redoxmessungen auskennt, geprüft. Er bestätigte, dass die Werte auch beim neuen Gerät nicht stimmen konnten. Es scheint in diesen Bereichen überfordert zu sein.
