These LED lightbulbs have an extended top-to-bottom total overall length of 75mm and overall diameter 50mm (versus the standard 54mm top-to-bottom height of a standard GU10 halogen lightbulb) in order to suit the deeper fittings which were originally made to accept compact fluorescent ("CFL") GU10 lightbulbs. (If inserted into a standard length fitting, the lightbulbs will still function but will protrude by a very noticeable 21mm.) I can strongly recommend these lightbulbs to anyone with the deeper fittings as a replacement for CFL lightbulbs. They not only allow these deeper fittings to continue to be used, but perform much better than CFL. Unlike CFL, the lightbulbs come on instantly at full brightness with no time delay, consume less power than CFL, and have a much longer service life.Reliability appears very good. I have so far fitted 14 of these lightbulbs over the last twelve months. All worked and there have been no premature failures.All lightbulbs were supplied in individual Sylvania branded boxes. According to the box data, the lightbulbs have a 15,000 hour lifetime (c. 15yrs at 2.7hr/day), 36deg beam angle, 345 lumen light output (replaces 50W halogen) and are "Warm white" 3000K, 5W power consumption. The box does not say whether the lightbulbs are dimmable.The "warm white" makes a very good working light, neither too bright white nor too yellow.One warning only: the lightbulbs can be a little tricky to fit! This is not a fault of the lightbulb, but simply a function of its extended length. For best results, before trying to put the lightbulb into the fitting, look inside the fitting to see exactly where the GU10 prongs on the lightbulb are going to need to be inserted. Try then to offer up the lightbulb into the fitting with the prongs already correctly aligned, and ensure the lightbulb is not tilted at an angle (because of the length of the lightbulb, even a slight tilt may cause the prongs to miss the slots). Once the prongs find the slots, rotate clockwise to secure the lightbulb. Some perseverance may be necessary.

Good bulbs. Brightness is good. Power consumption may be higher than other bulbs at 4.7W (other similar ones are around 3.5W).Can't comment on longevity yet since it hasn't been long yet.There is another review that mentions this bulb doesn't fit as a replacement for TP24 8722, but it actually *should* do in a TP24-8722 socket. However, there is a trick. The socket has a small spike between the terminal holes to prevent a non-tp24 bulb from fitting in. TP24-8722 bulb has a small hole between the terminals where that socket spike would fit in, but other bulbs don't have that and therefore can't go in.That small spike can easily be broken off (gently) using long-nose pliers. Once done, those bulbs will fit in perfectly.Packaging: You get the 6 bulbs individually packed, all put together in a bigger box.

value for money

Ordered these because description stated they were model 0026585 but 0028585 shipped.These for some reason rate lower on energy scale even though ratings are exactly the same.Hopefully product and quality are the same, just be aware if you need the specific model listed.

I bought some LED lights way back in 2012 for the kitchen but recently they were taking an age to get to full brightness.Time for change. Note: do take the lamp out to see what type you actually need. I bought a standard 50w eqiv LED lamp only to find it was too short.Ended up buying these long neck LED lamps. Switch on was such a revelation. The kitchen certainly is bright now, instantly at switch on. Certainly does the biz!

Needed these to replace the ancient bulbs in my ancient lights that were a dim awful orange. For some reason I cannot find these bulbs anywhere so was quite happy when I came across them on amazon. Lights up instantly rather than almost 30 seconds warm up on my old bulb and it's a nice bright white light. No problems with the bulbs.

Nice warm instant light from the 6 bulbs I've used to replace the cfl in the kitchen. Makes a real difference to ambiance. You can notice the spread of light has dropped off under the units however but this is something I can live with. Cannot rate the longevity as only just fitted, I can say the old cfls all needed to be replaced within 2 to 3 years of fitting.

They work well. Come on quick unlike the previous compact tubes. It's like putting the house theatre lights on when you drop something or want to do something in the lounge. We got twelve of these in the lounge. The previous owner who designed the house loved their many GU10 fittings. They had been loosing their compact tubes since there was a mixture of newer and original tubes. We changed the lot to these LED ones. Hopefully they will last since pretty fiddly to put in. The next level up from the normal GU10 halogen bulbs are the long neck design to put in ):. Had one that came loose, just needed twisting further in.
