Chilli Pepper Pete's ANTHROQUINONE-FREE Chipotle Chilli - Whole Dried 250g

These chillies were nicely packaged in a good quality resealable back which I imagine is helping to keep them fresh. I ordered from other dried-chilli providers on amazon and found the chillies delivered in thin non-resealable bags which were less handy. These Chipotle Chillies smell great - the smokiness oozed out of the parcel when it arrived and when i opened the packet. These have been great for cooking and give a great spicy smokey taste :D

It's hard to get chipotle here in Ireland, so I was delighted to find this on Amazon. Quality is first class and the price good. As soon as you get the packet you can smell the chipotle and the smell is amazing. Adds a great smoky taste to barbecue dishes and sauces and lasts well it cupboard. Indispensible for mexican cooking as well.

I heard about Chipotle (Pronounced Chipotlay) and a BBQ cookery programme, so I purchased a small packet from my local supermarket, They make a jump in cooking similar to propeller driven aircraft to jet engines.I decided to go into a larger supply as a £3.50 packet from the supermarket contained Five small chillies. Chillipepperpete's 250g filled a whooping size pickling jar. So trust me when I say it is so much cheaper from Chillipepperpete's.Once chopped and put into Minestrone soup or Spaghetti Alla Norma or any tomato based meal, they enhance the flavour with a hot and Smokey background flavour. I have yet to grind and use as a rub. Just waiting for the weather !!

I ordered these from: AMAZON. They came Packaged, Very well in Thick plastic, are Very good "Quality" Meco. ( Authentic: Tan coloured, Smoked over "Smouldering" Jalapeno Foliage, Green Jalapenos.)I added this "Comment" to Clarify the Misunderstanding, I and "Others" have had. ( There are 2 Varieties of: Chipotles. The other being the more Commonly found, Morita. Red in Colour, about 3 x Smaller than the Meco. ( Normally, Smoked over "Wood-Stock" at the end of "Harvesting".)I have used both "Varieties" and found them both Very similar in "Heat" but the Meco, have slightly more "Smoked" flavour, Nothing much between the two though!.Highly "Recommended" very good Value for Money, I will be "Buying" more in the Future Via. I bought these to make Thomasina Mier's recipe for Chipotles En Adobo from her book Mexican Food Made Simple. I'd previously made this recipe using chillies bought from a different supplier but saw these on Amazon and based on the reviews thought I'd give them a go. I was a little disappointed by the colour which are a dusty rust colour rather than red and when I weighed the contents of the bag for the recipe the total weight was closer to 200g rather than the 250g advertised, However after cooking the chillies in water they did start to colour up and the finished recipe was very similar in taste and colour to the batch I had previously made. Overall, a good value product particularly when you compare with the price of chipotles in leading supermarkets.

Nice and hot, very smokey flavour

Fantastic product and a must have cupboard ingredient. Deep smokey aroma and taste, medium hot and adds so much flavour to soups, stews, oil, dips and many other things.

Delicious tasting Chipotle Chilli's for a good price.On opening the bag you're hit with the fantastic aroma of the Chipotle's, in fact they smell so strong we had put them in a plastic airtight container so that the whole house didn't smell of them.Compared to buying supermarket ones (if you're even able to find them in your local supermarket) you get a lot more value from these with supermarkets charging a few pounds for 2 or 3 chillis.
