Fits and works as expected
There were cheaper options from 3rd party providers of battery. In theory, that should work but these days there are built-in logic and controls in batteries and systems detect battery types which can make these tricky. Getting this from iRobot alleviates this issue. However, you are paying a premium for the peace of mind.

Fits My 780
This battery fits my Roomba 780 just fine. It is a GREAT improvement over my old battery, but aren't they all in the beginning. I need this Roomba to be able to clean about 500 square feet at a time and it is easily able to do this (and more) with this new battery. We have been through 4 cleaning cycles a week for the last 3 weeks and so far the battery has held up fine and hasn't diminished in performance. I know this is a short period of time for testing. If there is any unusually early breakdown of this battery, I'll update. If this review isn't updated, consider this a normally operating battery for half the cost of the name brand.

Works great!
Great battery.Arrived fully charged. Ran for about an hour on hardwood floors and rugs then the roomba went to dock but the battery light was still green. Closed it in the bedroom and it ran for another hour on carpet and wanted to dock again. This time the light was actually red. I let it dock then. So 2 hours, maybe more on a single charge. Not bad at all!Did this twice. Ran 2 hours both timesGreat item.
