Good quality, works well.
This is one of those products you just want and expect to work. It's made to extend the power cable of a security camera, but it could be used as an extension to any low voltage power lead with a 2.1mm Male to Female Jack at the end. This is the standard power socket for a security camera (the external or internal ones - especially the plethora of Chinese-made brands that you can get on Amazon (Ive tried a few - they are generally very good). The wire is a little thicker than the norm - that's good because there's a bit more insulation (helps protect against interference) but it might mean that your wiring is a bit more visible, or that you need to drill a slightly larger hole to pass this wire through than you would have with the cables that typically emerge from the power adapters. An 8mm hole is enough to get cable and socket through and the cable fits inside the smallest size of self-adhesive cable trunking that most DIY shops sell.It works just fine, and seems not to attenuate power at all. Basically you use this whenever your camera is located a fair distance away from your mains plug. It plugs into the existing power adapter, giving you an extra 20 feet (6 metres) to play with.

Best Cable On Amazon - No Joke
I ordered two of the last year along with a 6' and a 12' with switch. I was so impressed with these cables I went back to buy some more but they were sold out. After checking for months I contacted the seller to see if they were going to offer the 20' cables again. She was super nice and said that they would in the future. Last night I spent about 40 minutes going over every 20' DC extension cable on Amazon and eBay. I ended up buying a smaller gauge (20AGW) for twice as much as this much nicer cable. It is very hard to find an 18 gauge DC extension cable and the Amazon search results did NOT include this cable under a variety of search terms. I found it by going back into my purchase history and clicked the "Buy It Again" button. Sure enough it was there. If I had one complaint it would be that the cable is a *little* bit still because it is thicker than the 20 and 22 AGW cables. I do like the fact that the plug and socket are somewhat sealed when mated with a like connector unlike many cable that do not have this feature. I can highly recommend this cable, and you will not find a 20' cable cheaper no matter what the quality. 5 Stars

Works great
Works great to extend the distance from the camera to its power supply. Was a hard to find item because of the size. For us, it has multiple applications besides cameras.

Large quage wires provide excellent electrical performance with rugged jacket and good connector strain relief.
Both connect ends fit snugly into the cameras power cord without any interference from the plastic housings. The camera operated identically as it did without the power extension. The larger 18 gauge wires in the cable are a great advantage in that the larger wire reduces voltage drop over the 20ft wire length. The larger wires cause the cable to be a bigger diameter then one normally sees in these power cables but that's the small price to pay for good electrical performance. Given the large wires and low voltage drop I could use all 20' lengths to power the cameras in my system without worrying about starving the camera for voltage. The jacket and the connector ends and made of quality material that will resist abrasion and provide strain relief for the connectors.
