Used to build a school project from scratch
We needed to build a school project from scratch and this barrel jack worked out great. The project was multi port USB charger that worked from AC/DC or solar cell.

good fit for breadboards and perfboards
Good Quality--leads fit well into standard perfboard and/or breadboard. Much more professional than just alligator clips and bare wires....lol. Very reasonable price with included delivery...

Sorry, not breadboard friendly, not spaced on .1" grid, but still nice for PCBs
The "breadboard friendly" in the title is just wrong. First, the pins are short and so aren't really appropriate for a breadboard. Second, the pins are NOT on a 0.1" grid. That "photo" they provide is so wrong. Where are the other pins, and how did they plug into something??The drawing with the measurements is correct. Note that (13.7-7.5)mm = 6.2mm = 0.244". Not a multiple of 0.100".That aside, these work well if you design your own PCB's.You can also mount it at an angle on a protoboard. If "perfectly straight" is not important to you, this works. Look at my pictures; for the protoboard in the picture you can see that the rear pin (5V) and the front pin (gnd) both get to good holes. The pin on the side can be used for physical support, as noted elsewhere, but it is also the sort of pin that is shorted to ground until you plug something into the jack. Could be useful for some applications.I've used a lot of these and other than the pin spacing I have had no issues with quality, so I am rounding up to 4 stars.

True Perf/Dip/Proto board mountable
Shipping only took 13 days and they really are Dip/Perf/Proto board mountable! The plastic even looks good not that dried out easy to crack stuff but nice and clean with some shine to it. The pins them self are even strong enough to be pushed into a Proto board with out bending. The pin space was too short to make it over the gap on the proto board but it mounted sideways just fine but could be a problem for some people. This was my 3rd order and the first 2 did NOT work with DIP spacing and pins are too big even if they did.

Replacement Worked Great
I used this to replace the power jack on a bicycle trainer. I removed the broken one and soldered this right to the board and it worked perfectly. Now I have 9 extras for future needs!

Perfect for breadboard
I love these connectors for their versatility. There are lots of choices but these have the "Switch" feature where they contact the rear pin when unplugged. Great for making battery powered projects that transfer to wall power when plugged in. They fit nicely into a breadboard or solder for a permanent project.

They work fine
They are not very forgiving so you have to make sure all the pins are perfectly straight and you have to be careful and make sure you're not bending them as you are putting them in. Go straight down not at an angle and they will go in fine. I've used them in solderless breadboards and perfboards and they have all worked fine. I will order again.

Not breadboard friendly
Sorry the connecting pins are not exactly on a 0.1” grid. They can be bent to sort of fit but still are too short to get a really good connection. I don’t find one on Amazon that really is. If you’re soldering them in a plated thru hole they can work but the push in breadboard connections are too flimsy.
