Best World Radio Listening Guide Available
If you're interested in knowing what's going on in the world: news beyond what your local radio/TV stations report, you need to tap into world radio. There are lots of ways to do that: get a shortwave radio, get your computer, phone, iPad, tablet, iPod or other internet device to receive radio from around the world. Lots of choices. But, you'll need a guide to figure out what station is where. This book is the best there is.The Worldwide Listening Guide does two things: (1) Sorts out the reception choices you might have (over-the-air analog radio, satellite radio, digital radio, streaming media and more); (2) Gives you the times and methods to listen to these world radio stations. My advice: buy the book, and carefully read the first five sections. Maybe read them a couple of times. They will give you the basic information on how to receive world radio via the various platforms. The rest of the book gives you the specifics on how to tune in.The Worldwide Listening Guide will continue to be your guide to tuning in the world. While you listen, keep a pen handy to record new radio frequencies or web links.Get this book. And whatever device (shortwave radio, PC, tablet, etc.) you need to tune in to the stations. Doing so will enhance you knowledge about the world, and make you a better citizen and person.

Worldwide Listening Guide is an excellent complement to the World Radio Television Handbook.
John's Guide is a complete reference for all the different ways to listen to radio stations and their programming from all over the world. Provides data on Sirius/XM, internet, DRM, Podcasts, FM, Community Radio, shortwave and other modes of listening and a lot of detail on programming, especially from the major stations such as BBC, Radio Canada International, Radio New Zealand, Radio Australia, RTE in Ireland, NPR and so on. An excellent companion to the World Radio Television Handbook - the WLG is complementary to the WRTH and contains little, if any duplicate material.

Not a comprehensive frequency guide
I thought this would be more of a frequency guide, like the World Radio TV Handbook. The articles looked interesting, and if you are interested in alternative radio platforms (i.e. not over-the-air), this might be the book for you.

Concise
Comprehensive and informative reading. Provides a solid background about the listenings formats and how the've evolved. As a not usa resident, in my perspective it lacks from additional information to guide these other listeners.

Fun directory of programs across radio and net by live ...
Fun directory of programs across radio and net by live broadcast time and topic. Beyond swl dxing, which is almost gone on hf unless you understand chinese, following programs live wherever they are across media is the natural evolution. Greatly appreciate this effort.

dated
Comprehensive but useless. More information can be obtained from free web sites.

Great, fun resource
An incredibly feature-rich book to have. I use this with my shortwave radio as well as my Grace Digital radio and it is a fantastic resource and a great read. Highly recommended.

Not much to it. Appears to be a used book.
It’s an ok book, but if you’re looking for something to help you understand and get started in the hobby, there’s probably better books available. It also looks to be a used book. Some of the pages are torn away from the spirals and the back cover is actually on backwards and upside down. All in all not impressed.
