Functional for slag removal - or for geology
Nice, heavy duty hammer for slag or for rocks with a comfortable rubberized grip. Officially for chipping the slag off welding work, this hammer can also be used by geology people to split open rock samples. The flat blade-like end can chip slag off a smooth surface or be used to split layers in sedamentary rocks. The pointy end can chip at slag or be used to split open rock samples. Either way, the grip will cushion the blows to the body while providing a firm grip for the hammerer. This does not have the flat surface of some rock hammers, but a simple mallet or small sledge hammer can serve, or some blows with the pointy end. A nice hammer.

Solid hammer, balanced weight - nice tool
Solid piece, forged from a single piece of high-hardness carbon steel. This feels strong, durable and is made beautifully. Straight across the top, both chip and strike are well formed ends. Handle is a basic non-slip good grip, and the overall weight feels balanced in the hand. It's like the ones in the workshop spaces I've been in. As I like to keep learning anything to do with design and construction, I got this as it's required for my toolkit for some classes I'm taking next year.
