Our Golden Retriever is a very sloppy water drinker. There is always water all over the floor. This water bowl helps and the floor isn't as wet as it is with a regular water dish.

This water bowl has been great for our black lab. He did not need any training to figure it out. At first, he was a little confused that there wasn't a large bowl of water to slurp from, but it gave him enough to just keep licking and he is fine. I will say that he is not an aggressive water drinker to begin with, however. I believe it saves a lot of the mouth drip though.My son's chocolate lab is quite an aggressive water drinker, and he is able to push the floating plate down more with the pressure of his tongue, so the drippage for him is not as good as my dog, but it still was better than before (they told me). Because of this, I did notice that he did leave quite a bit of water on the floor. Of course, when you interrupt a dog while drinking and he looks up and turns his head, the water will fall off on the floor. I don't think I get as much water on the mouth with my black lab, though.It's really easy to clean. You just pop off the gray square, pull out the floating plate, and wash the bowl etc. Easy to put back together. I love this much better than the pet fountain we had been using that would get really disgusting and was a pain to clean, let alone buying the two different filters it required.
