The New Heroes: The Chasm

I am a long time fan of the series and couldn't wait until each book came out. I have read them all multiple times and this one is a good one but the Chasm is the only problem I had with the story. You will understand once you read the book but it is still good none the less. I hope that he may open the characters and future books can be kind of like the DC Universe or Marvel. There are so many characters in all of these books that you could do books on each one and other adventure. If you are reading this Michael Carroll I would like to say thank you for the great books and I want to read more of your books soon. I will miss this series.

It was a pretty good story, not really the best ending and honestly the story seemed to jump around a lot. By that I mean it is from multiple perspectives and each of the chapters from each perspective seems to be at different periods of time. One will have spent months doing something then suddenly we're back at a few week prior. I just wish there was a method used to better allow the time frames of each to be more defined. Again a pretty good book I don't know if I liked it as much as the rest of the series though.

Great book! I finished it in one night. It was hilarious, great action scenes, well written, and great villains. Sad to see part of my childhood end - but I think it was time. You can't have too much of a good thing.My only complaint is there is just so many characters I found myself forgetting who was doing what - but I suppose that is the nature of a series that has been going on for so long.It felt like a cross over between the new heroes series & the super human series including characters and plot lines from both. Great series finale.Would probably be my second favorite in the series.

Absolutely love the books and the whole series, highly recommend giving a read. However they get sent in envelopes and my books were delivered slightly damaged, would be nice if they were sent in book boxes or something a little more secure, initial purchase was cancelled due to being damaged so it seems to be a common issue.

when i read crossfire i didnt think the series made sense anymore cause there was so many loopholes and to much questions but this final book to the series covers up for everything ,its a great series and i like the ending ,keep it up

I'm so glad I stuck with this series and the ending was well worth the wait. I also love that you can tell he had so much of the story (I think he entire story) planned from the beginning.

It was a great ending for a great series.It is the best book in the series also. And it is a 10 out of 10 for me

This is what it's all been leading up to - the final volume in this epic nine book superhero series.It's impossible to say anything about the plot without including spoilers, so I won't even try. The biggest and baddest of the superhumans returns from exile - and still thinks he should rule the world. He's completely invulnerable, and the only people who stand a chance of stopping him are the remaining New Heroes - only they lost their powers at the end of the last book. Oh no.Here we get the answers to several mysteries that have run throughout the series, and the final third of the book sees all the pieces coming together in a really satisfying and original climax. In the lead-up to this, the author does that George R.R. Martin thing of having major events happen off-stage while we see how those events impact smaller groups of characters - allowing us to spend more time with people we've grown to know during the series.There are a couple of unpleasant sequences - think facial injuries and broken teeth - but for the most part this is tween-friendly and morally sound.At the end of it all, you're left with just one major question: What will Michael Carroll's *next* series be about? I can't wait to find out...

Wow. Honestly, I never saw the turns this book would take. It's pace kept my mind enthralled - that has to be the single best end to a series I've ever read. Emotive, well written, genuinely brilliant. I've been following since the series began and I do not regret a page. Sorry that it's over but this is the perfect way to end it.
