An enchanting children’s tale to keep you warm 🥹
(Voluntarily reviewed a physical copy of the book on For The Love of Fictional Worlds)•Eoin Colfer is one of my top favourite authors - love his Artemis Fowl series and I honestly have binge read it multiple times; so when I found out that he has written a children’s book all about Christmas; I just knew I had to pick it up!•And I absolutely adored it - Juniper is a young girl whose mother ends up missing; and to find her she will have to take the help of the enigmatic man who lives in the park and takes care of the park.•Love love loved the illustrations that followed the story; the mystery of the conspiracy and the romance that was a cute part of the plot 🥰•If you adore children’s genre; the optimism that follows this genre; plus the fact that you, as a reader, get to save Christmas is just the icing on the cake - Eoin Colfer’s heartwarming story is for all seasons 🥹🤌🏼

Delightful New Christmas Story
Juniper Lane's mom has gone missing and the search for her has thrown Juniper into a Christmas adventure that she didn't anticipate. She seeks out a mysterious woodsman living nearby because she is certain he can help her. She realizes he isn't who he seems to be and begins to suspect he is Santa Claus, who has been missing from the holidays for almost a decade. Now Juniper finds herself accidentally exposed to North Pole magic while trying to prevent a local crime ring from stealing Santa's magical sack. Oh yeah...and she still needs to find her mom. This fantastic Christmas story will delight readers of all ages. One of my favorite things about this book is the cast of characters. They were varied in age, personality, and uniqueness. There was also a ton of humor and silly antics. Even the crime boss behaves in such a way to keep the reader smiling.I adored Juniper. She is bold, confident, and determined. I did not doubt that she would achieve her goals even when all hope seemed to be lost. Her primary support in the book comes from an older homeless woman who has become friends with Juniper's mom. Their friendship gives Juniper the encouragement and support she needs to find her mother.Ultimately, this book captures the spirit of love, giving, and community that is central to so many Christmas traditions. I am thrilled to add this one to my Christmas shelf.Celebrate the holidays with a story of hope, magic, and saving Santa Claus, from a celebrated author beloved for his spirited storytelling. Juniper’s Christmas is the perfect holiday read, year after year.

Charming and fun
Worried about her disappeared mom, 11-year-old Juniper sets out to get help from a mysterious woodsman she believes is actually Santa. But she gets more than she bargained for when she finds herself in a race trying to prevent a crime boss from stealing Santa’s magic. What I liked: great characters! Juniper is a wonderful character, with a kind heart full of hope. The other cast of characters are quirky and unique. The storyline does tug at your heartstrings at times, but it is charming. Lots of themes woven in, including dealing with grief, healing, and hope. What I didn’t like: there is only one thing, and it is minor, but there are too many point-of-view shifts for me. I understand the need to be in different characters’ heads, but it did take me out of the flow of the story at times. Again, very minor.A great read.4.5 out of 5 stars

Good versus evil
I chose Juniper’s Christmas, a book for 8-11 years by Eoin Colfer, because I have enjoyed all his Artemis Fowl stories. Children’s books are not just for children! Juniper Lane and her mother are just beginning to feel positive after two years of sadness following her father’s death. As Christmas approaches Jennifer Lane sets out for the hairdresser’s but she doesn’t come home to Juniper that day. Luckily her mother’s good friend Duchess, a homeless lady who camped out in Cedar Park, was there to take care of Juniper and they seek out the help of another homeless figure, Niko, to help them find Jennifer. But Niko, like Duchess has a secret & he doesn’t listen to Juniper.Meanwhile the world has sadly received no Christmas presents from Santa Claus so every December a Santa Vigil took place in the park by people hoping Santa will return. When Juniper encounters one of Santa’s flying reindeers she may be able to find her mother and Santa Claus. This is a touching, emotional tale of kindness and disaster which easily enabled me to suspend my disbelief following this courageous young girl and the adults who cared for her. A feel-good book for all.

Still reading but a delightful story. The cover alone is what drew me to purchase the book.

Fantastic story!
This is the first time I have read a book by Eion Colfer and it's incredible! I purchased 3 copies, 1 for myself, 1 for my sister and 1 for my soul friend. It's very well written and the story is amazing, wonderful and magical! It was definitely unpredictable and filled with many surprises. The characters are detailed with a lot of backstory on each one. This book/story should absolutely become a yearly Christmas story for generations to come.
