This is a decent gear holder set. It helps keep the camshaft gears from moving when replacing timing belts or chains. It saves time and gives me peace of mind knowing they didn't move.

I needed a timing belt tool to lock the sprockets in place to replace the timing belt on my car which luckily did not require a unique tool. This item arrived in a plane brown box with all the pieces scattered out of the plastic packaging. There are no instructions included, so if you haven't used a tool like this in the past you will probably need to look at the pictures on the page to know how everything connects. It is relatively simple, just put it between both sprockets and lock into place so the cam shaft doesn't move, pull the old timing belt off and put the new one on, remove the tool and done. It is important to use the screw end covers provided so you don't scratch the crank case, but not much else about it except the locking pieces are plastic and the hope that there is not too much tension between sprockets where it will snap and ruin the timing.
