Microcook 2-Egg Poacher

I love these poachers.Before cooking, I cut the yoke and white with a sharp knife.If I only do it a few times, the egg explodes all over the microwave.If I do it too many times, the egg looks like it’s scrambled.Get it right, and I have great eggs every day, but they obviously don’t look like the eggs in the illustration. Those eggs look like they’ve been cooked in a pan, so are mis-leading.I cook two eggs for 40 seconds, stir and turn, then another 30 seconds and they’re perfect. Adjust times for more or fewer eggs or according to the microwave’s power.It’s impossible to cook eggs in a microwave with the yokes and whites intact, because yokes contain micropockets of water which become superheated, and turn to steam which needs a way to escape as it expands, so it WILL explode EVERY time in a microwave. This is why eggs explode if you put them in a microwave in their shells.All the one-star reviews mention explosions — they’re probably not cutting the yokes enough times. If you don’t pierce/cut them at all, you may as well put your metal cutlery in there too. Type “173 eggs microwave” into YouTube to see why the crazy video-maker stood 100 feet away from his microwave.I’ve been using these for years; they need replacing every year or two because the plastic bends and they become less efficient, but a few quid every year is definitely worth it. Love them.

Probably one of the worst products I have purchased on Amazon. Eggs cook unevenly (despite being careful to choose similar size eggs), lid bursts open despite cooking on 600W in short 20s bursts, spraying the inside of the microwave with raw egg. Despite all this, results are nearly always as per the attached picture.Then proves difficult to clean due to the inside having dips and ridges, making it it a germ trap.Worst of all, the seller, Stewart & Gibson at the time of my purchase, told me I couldn't get a refund because the product had been used!!!Well yes, how else am I going to find out how useless it is?Had to go to Amazon's A-Z guarantee claim service to get my money back.

I love the way this cooks my eggs but I have given only 4 stars as it was posted in 2 identical plastic bags. I would prefer cardboard as many amazon products are, or at the very least only 1 plastic wrapper. Very unnecessary single use plastic.

The concept is good but I always find unless you watch it like a hawk when cooking it tends to build up pressure and explode egg everywhere in the microwave. I’m not sure it’s worth the mess it makes.

Very cheap. Cannot see eggs cooking as in others. Price for manufacture. Wouldn’t buy again.

Received in time as stated for delivery. Instructions say length of time to cook with varying times as per microwave wattage. Mine is 900 yet eggs still not cooked after 60 seconds. At times, I egg may blow up whilst the other egg not cooked. However saying that, it's still more convienant than having to boil pan of water etc.

Was deformed when arrived so the lid doesn't seal and the egg takes more cooking unless you weight the top down

How can something so cheap not be value for money. Simple sfter one use the top would not clip down rendering it useless.
