Love it
It was a little time consuming to assemble but that was no real problem and the machine is a joy to use. The build quality is excellent

It's big and heavy, but it works!
It's big, and it's heavy, arrived on a small pallet, a two man lift unless you take everything out of the box separately.I thought the instructions weren't the clearest, the original was in German and all of the other languages seem as if they are machine translated (What is a 'fork wrench'? Ah yes - a spanner). The illustrations are small and aren't the clearest, so I scratched my head a bit until the light bulb went on. Then it was relatively easy, if awkward because of the weight of the thing. BIG HINT: - there is a proper exploded diagram at the BACK of the instructions booklet! You will need some metric spanners, ideally a socket set and some Allen keys too. A couple of nuts and washers were missing which was annoying. It seems reasonably well made, is quiet in operation, and does the job well, if messily because the fine sifted soil falls around the legs, so some improvisation is needed... Your soil needs to be pretty dry to avoid clogging, which could be a challenge with UK weather, but I guess that is the same for all sieves. Fitting the fine mesh sieve inside the outer sieve is fiddly.Oh, did I mention it's big? Even though it's on wheels, don't expect to tuck it away in the corner of your shed unless you dismantle it !

Misleading product picture.
It's OK but the picture is misleading. The sieved soil is also thrown to the side. It doesn't fall neatly into any container beneath the rotating barrel.

Sturdy machine spoilt by assembly difficulties
This is a solidly made piece of kit. However, it is not easy to put together - almost impossible on your own because of the weight of the drum! Why don't manufacturers realise that when you buy something you want to use it straightaway; not spend an entire morning assembling it which is what this took. Much of it could have been pre-assembled without any noticeable impact on the size of the packaging, so why wasn't it?. There are around 30 nuts and bolts to fix in three different sizes. However, assembly is not helped by the fact that the English instructions totally omit to say which of the three different sizes go where! For this information you have to read the instructions in any one of the other languages (German, French, Italian, etc). The largest washer is also described as the small washer in all languages! Have yet to try out the machine, as I ran out of time having spent three hours on assembly, so will update this review when I have had a chance to use it.

not easy to put together
Comes in pieces, not easy to put together, but arrived as promised and will hopefully do the job.

Bought this about 6 years ago from a High Street ...
Bought this about 6 years ago from a High Street chain DIY store.Works very well.Sifted around 12 tonnes of soil over a number of months.Use when the soil / turf is dry - more effective.Bearings have now gone but I think there is a replacement kit available

Easy to set up, surprisingly quiet.
This is typical German quality - dead easy to assemble - about 10-15 minutes in all, the instructions say to make the base frame then the drum with the inverted 'V' frame bit onto as a separate bit then slot the drum & \/ frame part into the base part - easy to do even on my own.The machine is so quiet - I had my ear defenders ready but never needed them.I can't see this machine ever needing replacing but if it does I will buy the same again or whatever Scheppah are making in decades to come.
