Product description Silver Shield Antibacterial Paint Additive Silver Shield provides a release of silver ion on demand, which in turn safely inhibits mould, bacterial and microbial growth. This controlled release of the silver gives the product excellent characteristics and provides maximum long term activity. Silver Ion Technology. The active ingredient in Silver Shield is just silver, reduced to ionic form Silver has been used in its pure form for many centuries to prevent the growth of bacteria. At Silver Shield we have developed the means and method to safely and effectively incorporate silver into any water based paint, grout or glue. Incredibly durable, long lasting and highly active, when Silver Shield is added into a product it is dispersed throughout the entire item, will not wash off and lasts its entire lifetime of the painted surface. Silver is inorganic and non-leaching, which means unlike organic antimicrobial additives it stays within the item it is added to, and makes it completely safe for use in hospitals, surgeries, childrens rooms etc. Silver provides antimicrobial protection without allowing bacteria to develop resistance, permanently, for the life of the paint. Silver Shield works, it has been thoroughly trialed and tested independently and has NHS accreditation. Add 2ml of Silver Shield per litre of water based paint.
