Second Read was full of wonderful gifts
I re-read this book after a 4 or 5 year lapse in time. I was just as riveted and chewed on and digested some amazing gifts of growth that I hadn't expected. My first read was at a time when I was experiencing a personal revolution...after reading Metamorphosis I felt less vulnerable. I was grateful for the author's honesty and courage. This time my read was enriching, different in reminding me of feelings about past fears, vulnerabilities and judgements that no longer exist, or in all honesty, barely exist in the current point where I reside on my lifeline. The treasures of empowerment and hope for always having the courage to change direction and not settle for less resonate deeply with me. One of my loves was so interested in what I was reading that he read it in a day and as a lover of women of substance he was happilyy suprised with the insight he gained from this richly brave and vulnerable story.

The Story Behind the Change... fascinating and easy read, yet powerful
I read this book in one night, as I couldn't put it down. I was expecting this "vulnerable" account of the author's life to be an uncomfortable read. It was not. In fact, the flow of the story was graceful and extremely comfortable. I related to some of the underlying psychological experiences in the book, and so will many women (and men?) readers. While perhaps not universal, her experiences are widespread in American society: insecurities, feeling inadequate, compromising one's own sense of identity and more. What I didn't relate to was the feeling of being invisible. I accept that many of my women friends and colleagues have explicitly told me that they have emerged from a past of feeling invisible. These women that I now "run with" are very powerful, having transformed like Sue Relihan has -- each in their own journey of #metamorphosis. I resonate strongly with the beautiful journey of reclaiming personal power, of empowering others to do so, as well, and for being transparent and vulnerable and inclusive in this journey.Brava, Miss Sue Relihan! Bravo for your courage! Bravo for giving hope and inspiration to others and illuminating a clear choice for blossoming and living life to its absolute fullest on your own terms.I recommend this book if you are already solidly on your path to self-empowerment.I recommend this book if you are at wits end and feel ready to snap or spiral down further into insanity and stress -- its a lifeline, for sure.I recommend this book if you have a loved one in your life who has either bafflingly overcome things in their life that you have not grappled with, or who is struggling with feeling inadequate or invisible. This book is for almost everyone.

Interesting, well-paced book that hits an emotional cord in everyone
This is beautiful, raw story told with incredible pacing and interest. I was immediately sucked in and couldn't put the book down. The author did a great job of using an authentic voice, and I often felt as if I was sitting across the table from her listening to her tell the story in person. I was rooting her on at each turn and feeling her pain so deeply.I felt encouraged and inspired after reading her words and extremely honored to get a glimpse at the inside of someone else's struggles in such a real way. I read another review that said it felt like reading her journal, and I agree. There was a raw vulnerability to this book that made it feel sacred. But while it was relatable and personal, it was also polished and well-writtenAs for the themes addressed in her story, we can all relate in some way to this notion of settling in our lives and what we are willing to accept as "enough" for the worthiness we feel. This was a beautifully woven story of transformation and seeing one's self in a new way, and I highly recommend it as a well-paced, insightful read that will hit an emotional cord in everyone.

Five star book!
WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY! Sue has written a book that you will LOVE and that most women can relate to because they have gone through the same psychological thought process at one time or another in their life. I could not put the book down. I felt myself holding my breath as one chapter ended and another began. I found myself mumbling to myself and saying "I wonder what's going to happe next." I know what invisible feels like and I sure felt much compassion and love for all that Sue has gone through and her wanting and seeking to find her own self through the midst of her life challenges. Sue has put herself out there fully and completely vulnerably by writing this book. Thank you for sharing from your heart, Sue! It's a great read and I highly recommend it!!!!

Such a great journey
Sue Relihan is a Warrior. This is a woman who has won against pride, prejudice and the ego that can come with sticking your neck out as a woman in a mans world. A revelation and a discovery. Her message-where your placed in life is up to you. That you decide what you want. A great example of one womenβs journey to make a difference in the world.

An amazing journey...
Sue Relihan's beautifully written book immediately captured my attention and my heart. I was so inspired by her ability to rise above her circumstances. She not only survived her experiences, but with grace, she thrived! The messages Sue received as a child, and into her adulthood did not define her. As a child & adolescent therapist, and parent coach I am well aware of the effect of childhood messages ...messages we take into adulthood and share them with the world. What a beautiful spirit Sue is and through her own life lessons, she is now able to offer her gifts to others who have struggled with their own life circumstances.

Excellent, Interesting, Vulnerable Memoir
I met Sue at a meditation workshop a few years ago and she talked about her plans to write a book. It was finally manifested and I ordered it as soon as possible. This book is an open-hearted, honest, vulnerable and amazing story of her life experience and transformation. I can, without hesitation, recommend it for anyone. I read it straight through cover to cover on the day of arrival and will read it again. I couldn't put it down because it was so well-written and the subject matter was compelling. Thank you, Sue. It took great courage to reveal your greatest vulnerabilities and heartbreak. There are great things ahead for you.

Inspirational and empowering
I found this book to be incredibly heartwarming and inspirational. Sue relates her story with so much openness and frankly shares her most vulnerable thoughts and feelings that you feel as though you are there with her. This also allows you to recall your own vulnerability and connect with the emotions. It's a story of triumph, hope and learning. We can all learn and be empowered by Sue's story. Utterly brilliant.

A Brave Share... A relationship of learnings...
Loved it right from the opening... Brave journey of sharings. I could relate how we pay a high price for acceptance... So true. What a journey... I'm sure there will be many women who will discover warning signs and inner strength from this read. Yes, we can transform... we can metamorphosize. I really believe through reading the journey of others, we can empower ourselves. We can learn from others much about life for sure.

Coming out of isolation and invisibility.
An inspiring book about struggle to be accepted. Sue shows clearly why she and others settle for less than they deserve then , live invisibly and ignore their instincts. This book is about waking up and becoming authentic to stay alive.

Inspirational reminder to see the brightness through challenge
A courageous read and reminder how we all need to 'incubate' to transform. Her story resonated with me so much after going through a very similar journey through ME/CFS and being forced to be quiet and still. Truly a must read!
