I am no expert on Venetian Blinds, but people have said they like them.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019CBD1PI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1I am only writing a review because no one else has. I had a budget to buy two Venetian Blinds and tried to get what I considered the best value for money. I knew I wanted 50mm slats and wood and a dark colour (dark navy I had in mind), I came across Intensions after finding one in Warehouse Deals at a good price and bought one from Intensions on Amazon, hence I stayed in my budget. The smaller Blind was the correct width but needed more length so i just lowered it on the window (it is not noticed from the outside). The larger of the two had to be shortened both length and width (the Instructions show what to do), no problem. Well not really! I did not have a shears for cutting Metal or a Circular saw. I only have a Jigsaw. I knew the Wood blade would just about cut 50mm the width of a slat.I did something that proved crucial, a trial run of 10mm on each side. It was a disaster, the ends of the slats all splintered and the top rail buckled and bent. I did use masking tape but it was not tight enough. For the next and final cut I used a lot of Masking tape and had the slats inline and as tight together as possible, over the area I was cutting tightly covered it in Insulating tape. And it worked as I got a perfect clean cut.Even though I was using a steel blade to cut the Metal top section, it buckled and bent, even cutting in from the corners, anyhow, after the cuts were made i straightened it as much as possible, filed it a little and with some physical force was able to get the end caps on. Just to note, this section has a slat which sticks over it with Velcro so it will never be seen. Shortening the Blind was also challenging, again i did a trial run to cut the Blind lower than it was required and somehow managed to cut treads on the wrong rung, on the second and final cut got it right. Getting the correct tread length and vertical tape into the hole at the bottom slat was difficult. Make no mistake, if you cut the Blinds to short you are in trouble, Superglue will not work. Now that the Blinds are up, I rather like them. I cannot compare them to other Venetian Wooden Blinds because I have never taken much notice of any before, but in general they do appear to be of a good quality and certainly do not look cheap (I included the photos so you can make up your own mind). The mechanism which controls them works smoothly. The paint is also perfectly applied, however, the wood is not stained the colour of the paint and if it is mistreated will chip off and will be very noticeable.I have given Intensions top marks 5/5, now I hope I will get a free Blind for my Green Kitchen ;) ;)
